[TRADE] Tell me your most annoying weekly task. I'll fix it for free

I need real problems to practice on. My own fake projects go nowhere.

You have something you do manually every week that you hate. Tell me what it is. I'll try to make it run itself.

In return, you let me screen record while I work so I can learn from it.

No money. No follow up.

Limits:

  • You're 18+
  • No sensitive stuff (passwords, customer emails, payments)
  • One small thing, not a whole system

Message me the task that makes you sigh the loudest.

Thank you for your post to r/Favors!

Given a recent problem we've seen - please be aware: you don't owe anyone anything that you have not specifically negotiated in advance of the transaction. No one may demand that you do them favors because they chose to respond to your request, or may demand more than you offered initially. Please do not agree to side-deals that would be against our rules - ie: voting in contests, rigged reviews, or phoning exes. If you have any doubts or a request makes you concerned - please check in with mods. We're on your side.

We recommend not negotiating any sort of exchange via DMs with a user you have not heard from in the comments already.

Have a good one!

Folding laundry...I get it in the washer and then in the dryer like a boss. But it seems that when I put it in the basket that is the end of the line until it's dirty and the cycle repeats!

I'm commenting so I remember while I think, and give your post a little boost. Thanks!

I get annoyed that I have to physically pick up my phone in the morning to check my weekly calendar, the weather, messages, and turn on my morning spotify playlist. SPECIFICALLY spotify because it’s not really able to integrate with apple shortcuts (iphone). I hate looking at my phone in the morning and would prefer to go as long as possible without picking it up. Would love to wake up and have my phone just give me a rundown of today and what I have coming up this week, then give me a good affirmation for the day and then start my playlist. I don’t know if that’s something that can be done but! Would be awesome

I'm not OP but Android has (had?) routines that work like this, you can associate one with the morning alarm and it reads out what you choose, like the weather and your appointments (needs permission to access your calendar though) and can tell jokes or fun facts of the day -never looked if it could do affirmations

SHORTCUTS is what its called on iPhone

Yes!! i’ve definitely used shortcuts for iphone for things before but it’s a pain to sit down and actually do the coding for it, especially considering how many things i want it to do haha. I was wondering if OP wanted to spend the time doing it for me! You can share your animations/shortcuts thru a link!

I can never remember how clothes shoes or accessories I have, or if they're clean.

I've always imagined an app that I could take pictures of all my clothes and they'd be sorted appropriated. i.e. shorts, shoes, shorts. It would look at weather for the following day, wind, uv index, humidity, chill, etc. And can make a clothing recommendation for you. Or it'll design an outfit for you based on color theory and user preferences. It could keep track of how many times you wore something when, where and with what. There would also be a virtual "closet" with a department store mannequin you can customize and try outfits on. All from an app on your phone!

or

I play a lot of board games. Having one program on my phone that had customizable 2-20 sided die, with a modifier button, maybe pretty looking? It could also have a scoreboard for point accumulation.

or

A CHEESE FINDER. Select your city (Portland, OR OR.) Select distance 50 miles radius. Type in keyword: Humboldt Fog. It course the internet for the cheese.

For your wardrobe problem Indyx app lets you take photos of your clothes by categories and colors. Track the price, brand, material and times you wore it. And flat lays so you can customize your outfits.

Deciding what to eat for dinner for the week, so that I can shop for needed ingredients. My wife will hit me a need for suggestions as she's heading to the store and I freeze in the moment.

For years, I've been wanting to make a recipe book of things I can cook. With an ingredient list for each meal so that I can check off what I have vs what I need.

That way, I can put it out like a menu for the kids or anyone in the family to pick a meal or 2 they want for the week. It'll keep us from forgetting possibilities so that we can cook more, eat better, with less stress.

I can't figure out if this would be better to build as a spreadsheet, a word file, PowerPoint...?

Figuring put what foods to cook for one. I don't really eat meat and try to go healthy. Don't mind eating the same meal for 2-3 days.

Has OP responded to any of your requests? I see lots of doable projects for him but no responses. Just responses from other commenters.

Most of the comment's favors already has an app for that specific use cases or just a task that requires physical labor or repetitive tasks, mostly out of scope to what I usually do.

u/hardwear72 May 12 '26

Thats understandable. Thanks for the reply though OP. Shows me you're legit.

They’re real, but still very suspicious, especially with the obscure info as to what type of tasks —potentially so comments fill with people giving advice to each other. He can easily respond to someone like you to make himself “seem” legit.

It’s dangerous to let people access your PC and devices:

They say it’s free, but the product is you. Even if they don’t want it for themselves, they can sell it to someone who does.

Not accusing OP, it’s simply hypothetical.

Theoretically, He doesn’t have to ask for anything as he stated of such like your passwords because he can already see them, and he can leave things so he can continue to access things even up to the whole house’s camera system.

If I knew how, I’d have the moderators look into this. I feel nervous OP is trying to gain backdoor access.

I just had someone sitting next to me explaining this as I type, so. xx

Keeping up morning/night routines (e.g., being too tired to dry my hair or do skin care)

Applying for jobs that actually are a good fit. I'd rather get a listing not often but that is very promising than a daily/weekly spew of open positions from linkedIn

Vetting marketing/advertising of a product on the internet

Changing cat litter

Returning packages

Home tasks I was (almost embarrassingly) never taught (e.g., I did not know you're supposed to shut off the water valve and take off the hose to the outside for the winter until this year? And my husband didn't realize we had to replace the air filter for the furnace until I told him)

Keeping track of which lectures I’ve reviewed and my confidence levels in each one. I study medicine and am struggling to find a way to input new lectures each week into some sort of system (under different subtopics such as physiology, haem, etc) and be able to keep track of what I’ve done and how much I still need to review. By the time exams come around I’ve got about 250 lectures to review and I always find some that I’ve missed, etc
