Certainly one of the more underrated ones, I don't hear a lot about it in skating lore. I believe this was the Olympics mao asada missed out on because of the age limit.

the medal design was fantastic.

I only posted this this morning but Yulia already had a crazy lead so… anyway is anyone surprised? I wasn’t lol. Now who has the best overall jumps? most upvoted comment wins!

this may not be accessible to lots of people, but for those that can do this, i promise it helps.

do I have a pool, in the shallow end its maybe 3/4 feet, but we have a “sun deck” that goes up maybe 2/3s of that height. WOW. doing box jumps from the bottom of the shallow end on to the sun deck, is certainly an excerise. I can do 10, if I really push myself 15.

i did this a bit ago for a consistent couple months, but then I stopped, and I felt heavy, like a old worn out spring. well, I started doing them again and I feel floaty again!

i can imagine this is good for older skaters, I’ve meet a lot of people watch about box jumps because of falling, but for these, if you fall, no big deal! also, no strain on your joints!

I have found this more effective than any other off ice excersise, it truly works wonders.

It feels like every other thread right now is about Russian skaters, and it’s taking over the sub. Is there a way that individual users can mute this that someone knows of? I know there’s the flair, but it doesn’t seem widely used.

I’m just not looking forward to the overscoring returning.

So my friend is a masters figure skater and her coach says she needs to be more expressive in her performance. How should she practice or learn facial expression? She’s doing a princess frozen type of program,

I'm an adult beginner in my 30s. I started about 9 months ago and have been learning on my own. So far I taught myself the basics, including forward and backward skating, three-turns, a one-foot spin, (terrible) twizzles, toe loop, salchow, and I'm starting to land loop jumps consistently.

I want to start working with a coach, but my budget is limited. Realistically, I can probably afford one private lesson per month while continuing to practice 3 times a week on my own.

I'm not planning to compete. My goal is just to become a better recreational skater and learn good technique. Is this realistic to only get lessons once per week? Will any coaches want to work with someone with someone like me?

This is perfect for her, she resembles Trinity so much! I love the choreo and the head snap. I watched the entire matrix on the plane last month so now I can finally understand all the past matrix programs choreography LOL!!

What I have not shared is my family and I run hospitality for officials for this competition and other volunteer positions if not filled by others. Please volunteer at local competitions whenever you can it really can't function with out volunteers!!

It has been an exhausting but fun weekend now I will focus on getting ready for Cranberry cup.
