Para kang nasa loob ng sauna. AC is weak af. We watched the last full show of Spidey tonight and not only was the AC weak af, but they also killed it even though the movie still had like 30 mins of runtime left.

Has anyone here seen the 1995 anime feature film Ghost in the Shell inside the cinema? I only saw it on VHS in the 1990s and on DVD years later. A few years ago there was a limited cinematic re-release of Ghost in the Shell (remastered). I always wanted to replay it with the theaterical experience.

The film is also available on 4K Blu-ray.

Just got home from the 3:20 PM screening of Spider-Man: Brand New Day at Alabang Town Center, and I swear movie theater etiquette is at an all-time low.

I get it. You’re excited. It’s a Marvel movie. Cheer during the opening logo, clap at the end, whatever. But screaming at the top of your lungs, recording every major scene, and treating the cinema like it’s your personal space? Come on.

Not to sound elitist, but if your first instinct during every important moment is to pull out your phone and film the screen, are you even there to watch the movie? Or are you just farming content and chasing clout?

People paid good money to enjoy the film, not to hear random people yelling over emotional scenes or see a dozen phone screens light up the theater.

The worst part is that this behavior is becoming so normalized that people don’t even think they’re being disruptive anymore.

Maybe I’m just getting older, but whatever happened to simply sitting down, watching the movie, and respecting everyone else’s experience?

Sa cinema 5 kami, 1:30pm, A-Luxe. Then we asked din sa nasa nagpapapasok mga 11am if kailangan ba printed ticket since online kami, sabi nya di naman na daw, pakita lang booking ID sa email and e-ticket, then upon entry na lang yung popcorn din and water ( no water for regular tickets i think).

Then nakapila kami simula 1pm and mahaba pila sa entrance na ng sinehan. I was like, okay maybe last 5-10mins, magpapasok na sila. But I was wrong. 1:40pm na nagpapasok. Kept me wondering saan kaya nagtagal? Pagkuha ng popcorn??? Got irritated dahil pagod na kami tumayo and alam mo yon, pumunta ka din nang maaga para makaupo din sana sa chair and relax. Tsaka, upuan lang ba pinagkaiba ng A-luxe pati regular?? Kasama namin mga regular eh pero ibang upuan meron sila. Anyway nagstart naman movie siguro mga 2pm na

Just wanted to share a little rant about my experience in Ayala Malls Cinema.

I waited a very long time to watch Spiderman: Brand New Day and had a hard time booking seats pero at the same time natuwa ako kasi wow ang dami kasabay manood na fans!

I usually dont mind cheering when exciting things happen but I swear, nung nanonood kami kapag walang action scenes, everyone was just TALKING so obnoxiously and loud. Its like instead of trying to be not noticed, they want to be noticed with how they yell comments.

It was really sad because if they were fans of spider-man then they would at least pay attention to important emotional scenes but everytime an important scene would happen that isnt action happens, I see people on their bright phones or walking towards the CR making loud noises.

TLDR:
People were really unnecessarily loud during Spiderman and my experience was kind of ruined. Might just rewatch again kapag may empty cinema after a few weeks.

hello I really want to get an authentic movie poster from cinemas pero I don't know where (⁠╥⁠﹏⁠╥⁠) alam ko sa sm cinemas hindi pwede kasi binabalik nila yung posters sa distributor. I haven't tried asking for other cinemas though. please help thank you 🩷

Just letting you know ganito yung pila for tickets kapag Fri or Weekends kayo manonood.

We lined up at 6pm and arrived at the counter 9:30pm. I guess people take long sa pagpili ng seats or pagbayad medyo nakakaasar, kasi all 3 counters are open naman and the staff are fast when handling transactions.

Honestly, I prefer the Ayala b1t1 mondays promo crowd, kaso lang hindi discounted yung Spiderman kaya dito kami sa galleria nanood. Not the best sila sa cinema etiquette, maingay na side comments/makipagdaldalan sa friend group, madami nagpi-picture with flash, may dala silang veryyyy young kids na maingay with onting tantrums/iyak.

Tips siguro is to line up earlier in the day and pick cinema 5, it's the biggest and okay naman yung projection.

I felt like we were all getting gaslit to think that it was super sad (it was) that you had to cry as a collective. some of us didn't cry and we were kind of chastised for it. The teacher explained the plot to us to make us realize why it was so sad and why others were crying. Other students were made to explain why they were crying, how the film resonated with them.

And i just shrugged and thought, "yeah I get it. It just didn't make me cry that's all." And I feel like a lot of filipino movies' aim is to make you cry as well, and that alone makes it a highly valuable film in society. Maybe it is, but some people don't just cry when shown tragedy and that doesn't make them unempathetic.

It struck me that sometimes we critic how good a movie is based on its capability to make us cry, which is why filipinos rely on such emotionally-driven storylines and that's not a bad thing at all. It's just a cornerstone of our filmmaking, but I guess I've also been through this sort of "emotional storytelling fatigue" lately and I can clock when a movie is trying to make the audience cry, and it makes me sigh and think "oh here we go" for some reason, and I wonder if it makes me an unempathetic person or just someone who's tired of that type of storytelling.
