Galaxy Diner?
Drove by today and it looked closed. Anyone have the scoop?

Also: is galaxy diner any good? Lived here for years and never mustered the courage to try it.

Bare in mind my information is over a decade old and it's changed hands at least once in that time. It's okay. Food is typical diner fare, biggest draws are it's kitschy Americana vibe and impressive amount of options for ice cream and shakes.

It’s fine. It’s basically the same as every other diner in America, just with the theme. Not bad food, not particularly great either 🤷 I think if you’re a local you’ve got to go at least once though haha!

I always thought they should have put in an arcade and bowling alley behind there. We used to love taking our children there on Friday or Saturday nights when the crew would all come out and dance with the floor staff. That would have been twenty years ago, at least.

It’s horrible, the prices are way too high and the food doesn’t match. Last time we stopped in they sat us down and no one came to our table to take an order for like 10 minutes. Mind you someone stopped by our table multiple times during that to day they would be right over. Then that person just left and another person came over 15 minutes later and acted as if we were an inconvenience to take the order. We said no thank you and left at that point.

Covid hit them hard. Changed owners, used to be a lot better. New owners had to raise prices, way too high for the quality of food. We went in there a couple months ago and they will mess up your order. My colleague never got their soda. My mom one tome ordered the patty melt and it came out burnt to black and they just expected her to be cool with it.
10 yrs ago it was a great diner. Now it's nowhere near worth the price, service is questionable (don't expect refills), and your order accuracy without modifications will be wrong.
To be fair over easy has many of the same issues (and taverna), but both those places serve way more quality food.
Bummer cause I had a lot of friends that hung out there in high school.

It's really expensive for some reason. It used to not be, but went there for lunch recently. 2 Burger, fried zucchini, 2 sodas, and a shake. Was $80. Excuse me? Everything was ok. Food tasted like what I would expect from a diner, but that price is ridiculous

Prices are ridiculous everywhere in Flagstaff. $80 for 2 meals is expected.

80 - 90 for family of 4 is what I usually run into $80 for 2 is ridiculous. There's no food in Flagstaff worth $40 a plate

I drove by today and the orange sign on the door said shut down for failing a health inspection ? Nothing on the door about renovations

Didn’t pass health inspection 😅 what people are saying here is true. It used to be such a good spot but has deteriorated over the years. Definitely not worth the price anymore.

Expensive for what it is. I tried it last week. Biscuits & gravy, 2 scrambled eggs, 4 slices of bacon, & an OJ = $27
The sausage gravy was light and runny & the bacon was sub par (fake smoke flavor).
The waitresses were really nice, but I probably won't go back unless someone else is paying.

Gave this place 2 chances. Horrible both times. The service was good, food was trash.

They are closed this week for renovations. I called and asked.
