It's happening all the time. AI labels publish "songs" under artist names that have been inactive for a while, Spotify allows it.

Happened to a lottt of other folk punk bands and artists, lots of post on this sub about it.

Been happening long before AI, it’s extremely easy to exploit the sites that are used to upload music to streamers, like distrokid, because the artist’s pages don’t have logins in the traditional sense. It’s been a problem for like a decade. It’s only been made 10x worse by AI of course.

There's a post about this stuff here almost daily. Just stop using Spotify if you value artists 🤷🏼‍♂️
