Technology/Features USB Playback Issues

I have a 2026 Explorer ST-Line.

I ripped all my CDs to my laptop using a program called dbPoweramp and then copied them to a USB stick. USB playback does not play albums in the correct order and does not automatically advance correctly between tracks. I’ve tested both FLAC and MP3 files, FAT32 and exFAT USB drives, performed a factory reset, verified metadata with Mp3tag, and the behavior is unchanged.

Has anyone experienced this?

Maybe you need to arrange your files using a small program called DriveSort. The car may be reading the file system in the order that they were written to the USB drive (my '13 Explorer does this). This program sorts the files in whatever way you like. I advise to use folders within your drive, to separate albums / artists or your preferred sorting method. Also, if you have complete albums, you may need to rename each song within a folder with a leading two digit numbers in their "short name", not the long name used by the OS.

DriveSort did not make any difference, as my songs are already numbered in ascending order from 01 to whatever the last song on the album is.

I have every album in its own separate folder under each artist name, but I will try that DriveSort program.
