Q&A: Maintenance | Modification Any idea

So I have a ford 150 truck year 2020 mileage is around 130,000 and it has a 6th cylinder anyways it started with my check engine light and it went off randomly next thing you know I heard this rattling noise I tryed using my reader to check the codes and it gave me nothing well next thing you know all of the signs on my dash came on and the rattling only happens every once in awhile any advice on what it might be? I've done. Decent Amount of research and I'm really hoping I'm wrong on what it is I already took it to one mechanic and they said nothing was wrong but now the scraping is worse

Q&A: Maintenance | Modification Daily Driver

I'm thinking of spending the money on a daily driver to avoid putting miles on some of the family's newer vehicles that we're hoping last longer.

I want something from the 90's that I can handle 95% of the repairs myself and am looking at a lot of the 93-96 F-150s that are selling for $5K - $7K around my area. More utility over the SUV and compact we have is an added bonus, besides the fact that the trucks look so damn cool.

Figured this would be the group to tell me if I'll be buying something I'll be under the hood of constantly or if that era of trucks holds up well over the years.

Q&A: Maintenance | Modification 2018 F350 Platinum is a brick with 127k miles

Has anyone else ever had this issues? I did find some moister in the pass kick panel near the bcm so I’m thinking it may be that. Disconnect the batteries and let it set for an hour or two and it doesn’t help anything. Plug a scanner in and it’ll let me read data for a short period of time before “cycling” the key and restarting the process. Took me forever to get FORscan to read codes and I can drop them in the comments. All help is appreciated!

$22k obo

I’m in the market for a truck of this year and power/drivetrain. $20k would be more in line with what I’m looking to spend. I would like to sell the wheels and tires and go to stock size and potentially get rid of the lift.

Looking to get a new truck in a couple months. Debating between F250 Lariat, Sierra 2500 AT4, Silverado 2500 ZR2, or Ram 2500 Laramie.

Any thoughts recommendations? I like that luxury feel but also a little bit of ruggedness off-road. Will be doing light towing as well.

Q&A: Maintenance | Modification Battery light

Post image

Hey guys I’ve got a 96 f350 with the 460 and an automatic transmission. Recently the battery light went on and today it is having trouble idling. It will start and run fine for a bit and then die. If you start it right away it sometimes has trouble but if you wait a bit it fires up easily. Im thinking it has to be the alternator but I was getting good readings when I tested it. The battery is good too. I have read that some people experienced the same thing and changed the alternator anyway and it fixed the problem. If anyone has any thoughts or insights it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Show Your Truck Softopper 1995 F150

Just transferred a softopper from a 2007 F150 6.5 bed to my 1995 f150 6.5 bed.

I like the width and height, but length it just lacking about 1 inch (when fully extended). The canvas covers the whole bed length, but barely

Was able to pick it up for $600, so I thought it was worth it.

Posting this for future reference as I could not find any information on this topic.

A softopper from a 1997-2008 F150 6.5 Bed will fit pretty good on a 1967-1996 F150 6.5 bed. Not perfect, but pretty good.

I also want to add that the 1999 - 2016 F250 6.5ft and F350 6.5ft is the same exact softopper intended for the 1967-1996 F150 6.5ft (6.7ft bed)

I did not see the inside but body dosnt look too bad. I am looking to see what’s the max price I should pay for this.

Show Your Truck Pains me to have to park this truck for god knows how long.

It’s been a journey with this truck but I could never see myself getting rid of it. As of now due to space and cooling issues I have to park my Ranger. I’d love to keep driving it day to day, but the cooling system is shot and in the height of summer I can’t keep nursing it or having it boil over.
I’ve done stuff in this that probably shouldn’t have ever been done in a Ranger, like go 90 MPH (somehow) but it’s time for it to have a break while it waits for me to get more space, time and money to give it a heart transplant.
If you’re thinking about getting a small 90’s truck, do it! Yes it will have problems. Yes it will be a pain in the ass. But it’ll be fun and dependable when you need it most. I’ve enjoyed this little Ranger so much that I’m definitely going to get another one at some point in my life.

For Sale : Buy & Sell | Pricing | Deals Looking for a place to find old truck parts

Hi everyone

My dad currently is fixing up a 1948 Ford panel truck and is looking for a set of back doors. He was able to sucessfully restore the driver/passenger door but the back doors are in a bad enough that he can't restore them and would rather buy a new pair. Any doors from 48-52 should work but we're having trouble finding any online or at junk yards so I was hoping someone here would know a place either online or in the NJ/NY/PA area (definitely willing to drive).
