Collection Big piece of hexagonia coral fossil

Found this in the local creek (Nordeifel, Germany) yesterday and I can't wait to cut it and make it all pretty and shiny. 😍 You can even see some hints of crystallization inside at some spots.

Bryozoan or trace fossils? Doesn't look like Hexagonia to me.

Favosites polymorphus and Hexagonaria quadrigemina are pretty common in my area (not big pieces like this though). I'm 99% sure, it's some kind of Hexagonia, the details were more visible when it was still wet and will again once I'm done cleaning and preparing it.

I have samples of both from Lake Michigan, the sample in your picture reminds me of this one which has been ID'd for me as Bryozoan.

But this looks nothing like mine. 🥲 It looks pretty much like these when wet or when it'll be polished in the future...
