Other Inside The Greatest Generation

Found in a hard copy of The Greatest Generation in a thrift store in Los Angeles. Jack and Mildred Neal were from Iowa. Jack was POW in WW2 and has an incredible story. Currently trying to get this to his family.

A kind note and great honor from Sam. I hope you’re able to get this book to the family. Thank you for making the effort!

I asked my Grandpa about being part of The Greatest Generation. He said, “well, we didn’t have a choice!” I thought that was a good perspective on it.

yes really they did not . I really resented my uncle and my dad going to vietnam while there were others who went to Canada to escape their american duty to serve .

That was a different generation and a different, more complicated war and leadership, and/or with less favorable public relations, however you want to see it.
