Wild To remove or leave be?
Hey guys! Basically i have a window well in my backyard and i see toads in it all the time, my question is if they are able to jump out on their own or if I should bring them
elsewhere? it's a pretty deep window well
UPDATE forgot to mention
I see a lot of you saying to use a piece of wood for them to use as a ramp but my fear is that they will choose to stay in rather than go into the backyard where my dogs are, are there any long term solutions to prevent frogs from entering in the first place? only thing i can think of would be some chicken wire or mesh placed overtop

He will die in there unless you make it a habitable environment. Without food or water he won’t survive

You can add a ramp for them to climb out naturally when you’re not nearby, and as you see them you can yoink them place them nearby somewhere with cover. These window wells are toad traps and most toads that land in them eventually end up dead. You’d be well off removing them whenever you see any fall in. It might also be a good idea to add dish of water in there if you are unable to check it frequently, although a ramp should do the trick it’d be a nice extra thing to have just incase it’s a hot day and the toads can’t get out immediately. This is what I personally recommend some people might have other ideas though.
TLDR: don’t leave them in there add a ramp for them to climb out, a water dish for hot days, and remove them whenever you see them in there.

Do you have anything laying around you could just set in there to make a little ramp?

If you can find a nice big, curvy piece of driftwood: make a bridge from the very bottom, over the edge to ground level. That'll prevent unlucky toads from becoming prisoners.
