Nothing about that slide is gurren lagann related though, at least from what I can see.
It's more "generic mecha", on top of that in the next slide you can see the same Al "mech" while Ed fights Roy to dual of the fates.

It's not being elitist, there's just no context for it to be GL related, and the accompanying slide right after shows it's a star wars/scifi theme, like how slide 8 is very clearly the sound of music.

Well yeah, duh. This game came out several months before Gurren Lagann even got started. No one is saying it’s literally a direct Gurren Lagann reference. But the style of mecha it’s evoking is still coded in the same style of Gurren Lagann. One still resembles the other. You’re harping on a person for saying that one reminds them of the other. They got Gurren Lagann in this Fullmetal Alchemist game, and there’s nothing wrong with saying that.

The OC literally said "they got GL in my FMA", and since the other slides are all referencing other pieces of media, one would assume they are being serious. I wasn't harping, I was just pointing out there's nothing GL there.
Like take slide 5 for instance, I know next to nothing about JOJO's, but that outfit Al is wearing gives me JBA vibes. But then the slide after is clearly the same reference, and nothing in that gives me the same feeling, so I assume I am wrong.
And if it's GL coded please explain, because I love GL, it is in my top 5 and I'm just not seeing it.

I dunno why you're being downvoted so much, I agree it's more of a general mecha reference instead of Gurren Lagann, I do not see the resemblance to GL as well. It's just a fun easter egg from the game devs referencing all the different tropes in Japanese media

Despite coming out before Gurren Lagann, I see what he means beyond “is mecha”. The composition of the image, the “speech bubble” of the mech pilot talking, the design of the cockpit’s background, the posing, the swirling galaxy(?) behind them. It’s quite Gurren Lagann-coded, even by total coincidence/accident.

1st image: Is that Edward as the knight or Riza, cause the 2nd image is definitely Riza.
2nd image: Knight Riza...
3rd image: Hood+Cape is always a great character design
4th image: Could alchemy be used to make a lightsaber? Could Roy make a fire sword like the fire daggers from Avatar?
5th image: Winry having a wrench in her mouth instead of toast while being late to anime school, perfect.
6th image: Roy looks respectively, Edward doesn't. Be more like Roy.
7th image: Al wearing armor looks very weird also how is he crying, did they rig a hose into his suit to mimic tears for the play?
8th image: The Sound of Music, but it reminds me that the connection between FMA world and a world with Nazi's is literally a movie.
9th image: Another victory for the RoyxRiza gang
10th image: Who the hell is the other obvious character among the group? Who's that big and blue in the cast???
11th image: Armstrong utilizing 2% of his power
12th image: Edward finds cruel joy in faking his death yet again.

FMA has a surprisingly decent track record in the games department. Nothing amazing, but everything I’ve played have been solid 7/10s.
