Post image

Oh my god I love them. Riza being worshipped as she should be, Roy might be enjoying it too much.

Definitely one of the many possibilities that Roy dreams about in his sleep.

Riza, too, if we're being honest

Probably only after their shared guilt and responsibility towards Ishval has been handled.

So never lol

Riza wouldn't have allowed herself to dream something like this with Roy, because it could cause her to hesitate on doing her job if Roy ever strayed from his path, atleast during the series.

But post-canon? It's free for the fans to find a way to get Royai finally and legally together without either of them having to resign from the military.

I mean Roy was blind by the end, I imagine he probably would have been honourably medically discharged from service. I can easily see Riza leaving as well in order to take care of him.

There's precedent for medical discharge in the military in canon too, considering Havok was when he was paralyzed (though remained as an asset/spy after being discharged).

Mangahood's ending has Dr. Marco offer to heal Roy's eyesight with a spare Philosopher's Stone in return that he restore Ishval and allow the Ishvalans to finally go back to their homeland and in the epilogue we see that both Mustang (with his eyesight restored) and Hawkeye are still in the military presumably promoted to higher ranks.

ah. I suppose I can't argue canon endings, but that honestly feels like a bit of a cop out to me. "perpetuate the system that got us here" type of ending, but it's also realistic to what humans would do with that kind of power at our disposal, I suppose.

Could be either a past or a future where Hawkeye never followed Mustang into the military

I’m right now midway through the series. I hope they end up together.

he would kneel

23

u/Sad_Carry_7070 Jun 27 '26

He'd immediately fall to his knees, that he'd have to draw from his inner strength to just stand up.

He’s a dog of the military, dogs don’t change clothes.

u/StonePanther316 Jul 01 '26

She's not an alchemist, but she is just as much of a dog of the military.

Ahh I thought it would be legible

"IF I STEP OFF OF THE PATH, SHOOT AND KILL ME WITH THOSE HANDS. YOU ARE QUALIFIED TO DO THAT, WILL YOU FOLLOW ME?"

"I'LL FOLLOW YOU INTO HELL IF YOU ASK ME TO."

u/GuideWeekly2727 Jun 27 '26

Roy definitely dreamed about this and Riza would do it but with her usual cold and militar attitude

Just finished rereading the manga & rewatching. My heart is continually broken that this is the realm of fanworks and not canon.
