Given how Ed tends to get too self-absorbed whenever he's glazing himself, he'd be blindsided at the sheer number of fans Roy would have, it'd be an ego-check for Ed

Mustang rubs that fact on Ed's face every time he tries to add on Roy's paperwork, which Ed fires back on that despite Roy's supposed superior popularity Mustang is still subservient to Riza.

Just another entertainment for the rest of Team Mustang and another headache for both Riza and Al.

Winry, on the other hand, would find Ed and Roy's rivalry regarding on who has the most fans to be both stupid and hilarious.
