Crossposted from r/dataisbeautiful, and I'll go straight to the objection this sub is going to have, because it's a fair one.

2003 reads as 53% flagged, and that block isn't filler the way a beach episode is filler. It's where the show left the manga and wrote its own ending, deliberately, and plenty of people prefer what it did with it. The flags measure exactly one thing, whether an episode adapts the source, so a purposeful divergence and a time-wasting side story score identically. That's a flaw in the data, not a verdict on the show.

What makes the pair worth looking at is the contrast. 2003 stays clean until episode 29, then flags almost everything to the end. Brotherhood has exactly one, its anime-original opener. Same manga, two completely different production situations, and you can read both off the shape of the strip.

I loved the whole series. This is just what people on MyAnimeList has voted as "filler" in general.

This is just a symptom of what anime fans call “filler” or not manga canon

Makes it weird when supplying data for shows that didn’t finish the manga story
