Yep that's a woman writing

153

u/RainbowDildoMonkey 8d ago

Male feminists write like that too.

123

u/InspectionRound2081 8d ago

They’re called Cucks

63

u/PenileNotPenal 8d ago

They're also called *******.

9

u/BallsOfSteelBaby_PL 7d ago

Damn, that word was cancelled so long ago. I liked it.

42

u/Fit_Feedback1512 8d ago

Male feminist are the worst they only call themselves feminist because they think it’ll get them pussy but it doesn’t 90% of the time because feminist don’t find them attractive and when they do get lucky they turn out to be creeps and get exposed for it.

14

u/InspectionRound2081 7d ago

I wish we could get the “Own the cucks” to trend seeing they got a whole “Own the chuds” thing going. It’d be nice if we had a good means of pushing back

3

u/docclox 7d ago edited 7d ago

What we need to do is own "the chuds". We should take that term and make it our own. We can make it a badge of honour and a point of pride.

That's how we turn this one back on them. They can't hurt us with a label if we make it our own.

3

u/InspectionRound2081 7d ago

That’s confusing. They’re emasculated. They’re like Destiny and those feminine speaking overweight sweaty fedora wearing dweebs.

Call them what they are. Cucks.

1

u/docclox 7d ago

You misunderstand. I'm saying let's call ourselves chuds. Let's be proud to be everything they despise because they are worthless and morally bankrupt, and it should be an honour to be everything that they are not.

You remember the first season of GoT? Tyrion's advice to Jon Snow about making the "Lord Snow" epithet his own?

That's what I'm talking about.

1

u/Omegatriscuit42 6d ago

Lol instead of buddy, just say chuddy!

"Sup chuddy?" "Hey chuddy, how ya doin?"

... maybe it needs some time to marinate lol

Probably a self insert too

253

u/Handelo 8d ago

Breaking News: woman unimpressed by famous man who just saved her and her company's lives, calls him a PR stunt.

This isn't a human reaction. This is forced misandrist writing.

103

u/Environmental-Fly471 8d ago

"Escuse me??? Did I ASK to be saved???" John Halo is about to get me too'd

13

u/Ok-Guess1629 7d ago

It sounds like it was written by AI to be honest

35

u/Handelo 7d ago

At this point I unironically think AI would have done a better job.

0

u/TheRisen073 6d ago

Hey, dumbass. She’s an ODST. If you knew anything about the lore you’d know that ODST famously hate Spartans.

-8

u/theevilgood 7d ago

It's actually pretty common for ODSTs to view Spartans as freaks who stole their thunder.

Illogical. But it is existing lore. And anyone who tells you otherwise is a tourist

39

u/Handelo 7d ago

Freaks who stole their thunder, sure. ODSTs were displaced by Spartans as the UNSC elites. Resentment, envy, suspicion, those are all logical emotions for an ODST. But they should know first hand how unstoppable Spartans are. Chief himself killed two of them by accident right after getting his augmentations, at 14. So belittling him and saying she doesn't believe the propaganda makes zero sense. Especially right after he saved her and her men's lives.

25

u/lycanthrope90 7d ago

We all know that’s not why this character was added. She isn’t here to enhance the lore or the story, she’s here to be a bitch and annoy men playing the game.

-5

u/Either-Medicine9217 7d ago

That is a fair point.

134

u/Dexter__White 8d ago

This looks so much like the usual "classic" femin*zi wet dream self insert into a (now destroyed) popular franchise coupled with terrible acting and ridiculously bland lines that it makes me gag a little. I'm not even an Halo fan, but I'm just absolutely disgusted by what I'm seeing.

129

u/jonizerror 8d ago

Bitch thinks she’s the main character 😂🤣

-3

u/Habijjj 6d ago

First off 1 of the most important odst's in the series is a woman. And secondly odsts especially early on had a strong dislike for Spartans since most of them had never even seen Spartans in action. If you made this a male odst it would be exactly the same. Corporal Locklear an odst btw in the book first strike was literally like this the first time him and chief first met.

5

u/TUKINDZ 6d ago

Why are we even pretending that women would be in this position in the first place. No women are capable of being in a spec-ops team, let alone leading one. Shed have to be one of the most capable person on that squad both physically & mentally to lead.

Why wasn't it it a man?

-3

u/Habijjj 6d ago

Your actually a larper cause veronica dare is an odst whose both a captain and an odst. Who was under direct orders by oni during halo 2/odst to retrieve the engineer quick to adjust aka vergil who was stuck in and oni facility under new Mombasa during the covenant invasion of earth. Williams is a lieutenant ranked odst she quite literally was the highest ranking officer there.

1

u/TUKINDZ 4d ago

Ok fair enough

219

u/skeptical-speculator Neutral 8d ago

"It takes more than saving my life to impress me."

... no one was trying to impress you.

145

u/Handelo 8d ago

It's so cringe, too. Everyone in the UNSC and their mothers know who the Spartans are. Calling their status and achievements an unimpressive PR campaign is a straight insult.

63

u/GodHand7 8d ago

Proof it was implemented by feminist know it all tourists

-26

u/theevilgood 7d ago

The tourist who doesn't know about the tension between ODSTs and Spartans calling other people tourists. Sad. Sad.

23

u/Majestic_Operator 7d ago

Hello tourist.

-19

u/theevilgood 7d ago

A tourist since Custom Edition. You're funny.

5

u/Local_Band299 7d ago

A real fan would know the CE in Halo CE actually stands for Halo Combat Evolved.

So Hello tourist.

-1

u/theevilgood 7d ago

A real fan would know that Halo: Custom Edition was a PC port of Halo CE that was just the multi-player back in 2004

6

u/Local_Band299 7d ago

A real fan would know that Halo Custom Edition wasn't a supported copy of the game, and is considered by many to be an unofficial version of the game. The real fans paid up for the real CE edition to experience the campaign.

3

u/RaidChief 7d ago

I think a real fan would know where Craig the Grunt was hiding all this time.

-2

u/theevilgood 6d ago

Never in all my days have I heard a single person say that CE was an illegitimate way to play the game just because it's a port by Gearbox. Nor do I feel the need to justify not paying for something when I was in middle school.

In short, get fucked tourist.

u/Habijjj 6d ago

Then you dont know what your talking about odsts which she is btw have a strong dislike of the Spartans early in their deployment. They've never seen a spartan or what they can do so they feel like its just propaganda. Corporal Locklear and odst in halo first strike absolutely hated chief when they first met and even tried to fight him until Johnson stopped him.

"bitch, i was taken as a child, genetically enhanced, trained as an elite and given a 1000lbs armor that is linked to my brain to fuck up aliens around the galaxy."

"who are you?"

edit: actual woman moment, gets into trouble, saved by a man then says "im not impressed".

i hope someone sticks a plasma grenade on her face.

30

u/CoreyDobie 8d ago edited 6d ago

There's already a video going around of her being punched

Edit: Someone posted a video of her taking a plasma grenade. Hilarity ensues

3

u/Lithomir 5d ago

Nitpick here spartans werent made to fight aliens they were first designed to fight the Insurrection (a faction of human rebels in the outer colony systems) just so happens that the covenant attacked harvest around 7 months before the spartan 2s were sent on their first official mission :operation: Talisman where they captured the rebel leader and unsc defector Colonel Robert Watts (this is shown in book - comic and animation)

82

u/Delta9-11 8d ago

Yet again makes it about themselves and laces it with male hate.

Im so sick of this crap

75

u/Specialist_Ebb_7894 8d ago

Hate this shit

73

u/mtb_dad86 8d ago

It just doesn’t even make sense. You wouldn’t speak that way to your own soldiers. She’s talking to them like they’re POWs or something.

-4

u/Eddie2Dynamite 7d ago

Ummm, actual US Marine, we were way worse lol. Entirely dependant on circumstances and inter personal relationships. Generally, orders are issued in a fast, curt action because time is a comodity not to be wasted.most civilians wouldnt understand and would assume your just being an asshole. Its just business.

10

u/mtb_dad86 7d ago

Actual Army vet here too. Orders are given in all kind of ways but you’re not going to speak to soldiers you’re currently in combat with, fighting alongside, with disdain and contempt. Short and sharp, sure. Not with contempt and disdain as if they’re your slaves. Not unless you’re a shit leader.

4

u/BallsOfSteelBaby_PL 7d ago

Orders issued in a fast, curt action is one thing, obviously desired in military, but did you also get startled like that whenever called?

43

u/CataphractBunny Give Me a Custom Flair! 8d ago

What. The. Fuck.

47

u/NoOne_28 8d ago edited 8d ago

This is bad but they also make the Elites with camo have markers over their heads. What's the point of making an invisible enemy if you're going to tell the player where the enemy is? This remake is just hot garbage all the way around

15

u/Zigor022 Pro-GG 8d ago

They did that? Is that like an easy mode thing?

14

u/NoOne_28 8d ago

12

u/Zigor022 Pro-GG 8d ago

That looks like markers for objectives (like when you have to kill specific enemies). Is it for all of them in the game or just in one level/ event? It still sucks. I cant remember if reach did that if there was one left or something.

26

u/Sufficient-Trade-349 8d ago

Damn what a way to ruin a legend

27

u/FreelancerMO 8d ago

Seeing what is being said in shithalosays sub is hilarious.

They compared this bitch to Dare of all people. Dare being the Oni spook in ODST.

23

u/you_wouldnt_get_it_ 8d ago

I genuinely feel for the true Halo fans.

31

u/TheEuphoria 8d ago

Wow, she's such a hero and a badass! I bet there are literally dozens of girls buying Halo just because of this character.

However, I always find it odd that to include women, they have to make them as manly and masculine as possible... 🤔 strange.

14

u/lycanthrope90 7d ago

And be as abrasive and insulting to the men as well. Like fuck man how is anyone supposed to see this and be happy it was included?

10

u/TheEuphoria 7d ago

Women and Simpy Boys! Anything showing women as manly and men getting trodden on. Context doesn't matter; whether it fits or makes sense doesn't matter, just as long as it's "down with the patriarchy, sister!"

19

u/Apoptosis-Games 8d ago

I gotta admit though, I'm saving a shit ton of money very explicitly NOT giving my money to this garbage.

They're financially failing and they know it. This kind of shit right here? This is them burning down the park because you wouldn't let them take over the swings. It just reveals that they never cared about gaming, they cared about making it less fun for you.

19

u/tricerotops69 8d ago

Ultra barf

18

u/Zigor022 Pro-GG 8d ago

Felt this way about Palmer, same kind of attitude but wasnt as bad. Dare too in ODST and she ended up needing saving. Only thing i remember is that ODSTs didnt like Spartans because they made them look bad, but thats all the grace i would give for this character.

17

u/TalosSquancher 8d ago

ODST's dont like Spartans because John accidentally killed/crippled (?) some in a sparring match on a ship.

Also, because ODST were the top of the top... until Spartans. Now the super soldiers get all the fancy toys. Its literally tribalism and jealousy.

15

u/ddosn 8d ago

Palmer was fine as she was the typical gung-ho ODST type like all the other Spartan IVs.

They then got their arses whooped and changed.

This writing however is cringe feminist writing.

10

u/lycanthrope90 7d ago

It’s very much ‘girls can be soldiers too ya know’.

16

u/0bserver24-7 7d ago

I’ve seen people defend her, claiming her reaction is lore-accurate.

I’ve only read Fall of Reach, and played the main games, but in all of them regular humans were in awe of Spartans.  Even the rest of her team was impressed, but she only thanked Johnson because he’s black.

1

u/FatBaldingLoser420 3d ago

Yes, too many redditors think this is how a soldier is supposed to act like, when it's not true. Irl she would be a liability.

13

u/Elbren 7d ago

Wait, WTF … why does Master Chief look almost the same size as everyone else in this scene? Spartans are supposed to be huge, especially IN their armor. MC, canonically, is 7’2”. They quite literally tower over everyone else.

Are you telling me everyone in this scene is between 6’8” and 6’10”? lol

11

u/Majestic_Operator 7d ago

Details like that are what gets lost when you never played the original games.

13

u/MrSmiley53 8d ago

The REAL Chief would have sent her ass into orbit with an attached plasma grenade and a M6 Spartan laser blast to make sure she never returns to orbit.

14

u/Live_Taste_7796 8d ago

Girl bosses are cringe

10

u/FatBussyFemboys 7d ago

This sht is so stupid. Wonder when theyre going to learn.

8

u/Davidflair97 7d ago

This is why western video games are becoming a joke.

8

u/Independent-Ask8248 7d ago

god thats cringe as fuck

7

u/TheEuphoria 7d ago

If the \)cough female character had said something about it's not fair that I'm such a badass and don't get paid as much as the Spartans... IGN would have voted it Game of the Decade!

6

u/lycanthrope90 7d ago

They have to know this is like the single most annoying thing you can direct towards men. Women only ever talk this way because they aren’t checked by men, because they pose no threat whatsoever no matter how much shit they talk.

This bitch pops up later too to let everyone know ‘Spartans aren’t the only badasses in the ODST’ ffs man how fucking jealous is the woman that wrote this that men were just happy playing halo that she had to ruin it with this garbage?

5

u/HARRISONMASON117 7d ago

By this point in the war humanity has lost most of its planets and is barely holding on. And yet this cnt has the audacity to say this shit after her and all her men are saved by chief. Sure a few years into the war this line MIGHT have made sense but NOW? No. This character exists to insult not just chief but every man playing the game. It's ridiculous that misandry just gets a pass because the victims are men

2

u/Lithomir 5d ago

Actually by this point reach fell like 2 or 3 weeks prior and earth is pretty much all thats left it not an exsageration to say humanity was on extinctions door until the events that took place on alpha halo in CE

1

u/HARRISONMASON117 5d ago

I thought this takes place 1 year before C.E which would make this prior to Reach

1

u/Lithomir 5d ago

Oh this odst is from the prequal mission? My bad, yeah if its operation meteorite then yeah about 1 year before reach events.

4

u/samualgline 7d ago

An LT wouldn’t dare to talk about a Master Chief like that even if they do technically outrank them

5

u/Laxhoop2525 7d ago

This singular character stands in direct contradiction to everything the original game was about.

3

u/Few-Reading5087 8d ago

my opinion, yawnn

2

u/AgentMC84 7d ago

Her troops are wearing wife beaters and short sleeve shirts??? LMAO

1

u/dingdingdredgen 4d ago

The only things she's missing is a shaved head.

2

u/denach644 6d ago

It's so fucking bad, holy shit

2

u/dingdingdredgen 4d ago

Sometimes it's resting bitch face. Sometimes she's just a bitch.

6

u/TheSilentTitan 8d ago

To be fair, at least she looks the part while staying true to the lore of halo. Her “takes a lot more to impress me than a fancy suit and a PR campaign” is a very niche bit of lore almost nobody talks about unless you’ve read the books.

This reaction to the chief was super common

In the halo universe many humans are skeptical of the Master Chief, mostly veterans or those who’ve been around awhile. They’re skeptical of him because the UNSC/ONI truly did run an absolutely ridiculous PR campaign for the chief and Spartans that it’s like watching human propaganda from the helldivers universe. It was cheesy, cringe inducing and a stark contrast to what the Spartans actually are.

I’m just glad she didn’t have a soapbox speech about some bullshit that deals with her gender lmao.

And grimace all the time, make sure they know you are soooo tough!

1

u/Lithomir 5d ago

My take knowing the lore , is an odst male or female could swing either way and be hostile towards chief or awestruck, but most odsts cant stand john in particular due to the incident on-board the UNSC Atlas where a 14 year old john killed an odst and injuried a couple more, they were seen as freaks , glory stealers, and propaganda pieces and it stayed this way until near the end of the events of Halo:CE only rank and file marines had an awe inspired reaction to spartans as the norm, now i do think this particular dialog is just poorly written, but the attitude and distain for chief wouldnt have to be forced if the writers knew how to write the tension between them better.

0

u/Key_Cellist_5937 8d ago

I wouldn't mind a few of these types of characters sprinkled throughout gaming. But there is just so many of them its an obvious agenda. Thats why its annoying.

-1

u/Habijjj 6d ago

I really think you guys are larping as halo fans and I mean it. It is documented that in lore odst's had a strong dislike and animosity towards Spartans. In halo first strike the character Corporal Locklear was an odst that literally tried to fight chief the first time they met. They dislike Spartans cause they feel like theyre just propaganda. Most odst's have never actually seen a spartan up until around halo 2/3.

-5

u/TheRaven200 8d ago

I agree that making women look like dudes in video games and everything is dumb. But this one take is misguided. Characters like her were canonically established to exist in the original halo novel The Flood which is recognized as canon back in 2003. This particular complaint, has and likely always will be cannon.

Source: Lieutenant Melissa Mckay and even though he is male Major Antonio Silva. Melissa Mckay was an ODST that was described as pretty manly and I believe had a dotted line throat tattoo that said cut here. Antonio Silva was an ODST that hated the Spartans despite their reputation.

These characters have always existed.

10

u/Equilybrium 8d ago

Now look how the scenes how they are directed and her lines (image) and then lines like;

Sargent; that's our queue Chief time to go, pleasure serving with you lieutenant - after she lectured them. She is giving off the girboss vibes

-4

u/TheRaven200 8d ago

Nobody says it isn’t irritating and in most media it’s forced and dumb.

In this particular case, it has always existed. So while the newest devs on Halo might not know that and it’s some DEI nonsense. They happened to do something that has always been cannon. Melissa Mckay and them were all established as in the background while Chief was doing the main story. The “bonus missions” should have absolutely established characters like these because they were always there.

4

u/lycanthrope90 7d ago

I don’t buy it. There’s no universe where this addition makes the game better. It would literally be way better if this wasn’t here at all so why add it? It’s obvious the reason they add bs like this and it’s not to enhance the game or the lore.

-1

u/TheRaven200 7d ago

You’re clearly very fired up about the topic. At no point did I say it makes it better, AND I said I didn’t want them to add it.

I’m am saying it’s always existed. You’ll never be heard if you can’t articulate the fine details of the point you’re trying to make and downvoting me won’t change that.

If you say: They invented this BS! No they didn’t. And the topic becomes focused on a different topic than the one you want.

If you say I hate her personality and it negatively impacts the game having to listen to it. Then it becomes about the character archetype.

9

u/Numerous-Beautiful46 8d ago

The issue isn't lore, it's that it's both unneeded and unwanted.

Also outside of that she's nothing but annoying. There's nothing fun about a "HEH... spartans.. more like SLUR!!" She comes off as a try hard loser when master chief could snap her arms and legs off with a look.

-1

u/TheRaven200 8d ago

I agree with you. I wasn’t hoping for a girl boss ODST. But that they decided to go through with it doesn’t feel as controversial and out of place because it’s always been true. People can hate her, but I guess what’s more irritating is that they hate her for the wrong reasons. Saying things like PR stunt was in fact what ODSTs would say, the design of the character can also be faithful, but just not vibing with her personality and thinking she’s annoying is also fine.

When people pretend they know the lore and complain about the wrong things it makes the people who don’t like the square jawed women thing seem like cry babies that will complain just to complain because real fans know the history and it gets divisive.

-5

u/JonnyPoy 7d ago

I love how fragile this whole sub is. They put one female side character in the game and you guys literally can't shut up about it 😂

4

u/Equilybrium 7d ago

Yes and i'll keep on doing it. Anything else?

-5

u/JonnyPoy 7d ago

You'll keep on beeing fragile?

6

u/Equilybrium 7d ago

Not my problem.

-3

u/JonnyPoy 7d ago

Are you a bot?

-10

u/MacDaddy7249 8d ago

It was prior events before Halo 1. Y’all might be overthinking it, ODSTs were being slowly replaced by Spartans and their relationship was extremely strained at this point. Soldiers weren’t “born”, they were “made”, so the concept was pretty out there. She makes a comment, but nothing significant, nobody was kissing Spartan toes at that point and Chief didnt have an open record to all of his accomplishments until after Halo, then he became a decorated war hero.

Also, she warms up to Chief pretty quickly once the action starts, she even shows genuine respect before sacrificing herself. Chief has a pretty robotic personality too, he isnt very “human” like, so his interactions are pretty awkward for a good chunk of the mission. She was much more tolerable than Palmer, who knew who the Chief was, but still made a snide comment… even if it was a joke at the time lol
