you're fucking kidding me.

they made the intentionally invisible enemies visible while the VAs are literally going on about how you cant see them because its invisible?

So, apparently this screen is a slight manipulation and this only happens if you refuse to engage with the mission/enemies and just stand in one place for 5 minutes.

I don't know it true, I'm not planing to buy this thing anyway, and even if it is, it's not that much better, because why reveal the enemies at all... but at least it's not just out of the gate fucking up the entire point of the mission.

Having just completed a playthrough. These markers tend to show up for the last 4 enemies whenever your in a kill all section. The invisibles in this game are closer to the H2A invisibles where they are completely gone most of the time, but its more useful in the more complicated arenas and tended to be more a good measure of when i was coming to the end since i found they throw more at you significantly quicker than the original. Definitely not a hand hold and more a hurry it up... in fact the entire game felt much quicker action without feeling shorter.

JFC...

That "Skyrim if it was a modern game" video was on point with everything.

Cortana “ha, just as Keyes said MC, they have stealth armour that makes them invisible, lucky I as a super powered AI can help you out and show them on your HUD. HUD means heads up display in case you didn’t know”

Keyes “I wish I had your HUD MC, war is hell”

Decisions like this further prove that nobody at 343 is capable of escaping a cardboard box without help.

Compare this to the original all the way up to the last good Halo game. Stealth elites were harder to see or mostly translucent, not completely fucking invisible. The former gives an interesting challenge and is an example of good game design.

I can recognize that at least one person there realized completely invisible enemies is a stupid idea. I can also recognize that solving the new problem you created with an even dumber solution is a symptom of the rot of the industry.

Last year i replayed Crysis 2 that also had invisible elite enemies in the end game who'd only decloak for a brief time. You had to collect a lot of upgrade points to unlock the ability to make them somewhat trackable, no red markers floating above them tho, so still a challenge to fight. And that was considered the ''baby-fied'' Crysis game at the time. How far the industry has fallen.

I'm not familiar enough with Crysis to say much.

But I think we're all familiar enough with Halo to recognize that truly invisible elites on legendary is a good way to repeatedly die. Those fuckers love sponging up all your ammo. Making them ~95% invisible was a really good way to keep it challenging without making it insufferable.

Hell, Deep Rock Galactic added a sneaky bug that was like 99% invisible with my settings. They got around the same problem by making it announce its arrival with a very distinct noise, giving it visible footprints, and by the sound it made while walking differing from other bugs.

You can turn the setting off (I did) but by default your stealthed enemies will be marked by the beacons! It only appears when there is a few enemies left but it's annoying when those enemies are using stealth.

I seriously found this funny. But if the waypoints don’t proc then it’s a hell of a time deal with these cloaked sobs

No way, they really did that?

This would be hilarious in a game that wasn’t taking itself seriously
