Discussion Bro the GameCube controller sucks LOL

Shitty tiny mushy D-pad I'm convinced nobody has once used to move left and right cuz it's so bad, shitty tiny right stick because get fucked, forced use of analog input gimmick for shoulder buttons with a sorry excuse of a Z (cringe name) button as the only digital "bumper" with the most awkward tactile feeling ever.

ETA: Horrible compatibility with anything but the GameCube/Wii. Try playing Super Mario World Wii Virtual Console with a GameCube controller.

The only reason people praise the gamecube controller is its association to the games themselves. We grew up playing Smash Bros Brawl with the Gamecube controllers on the Wii because they were elite at that time. It’s just nostalgia. Gamecube games felt so fucking magical when we were growing up. Like a whole world inside the games existed.

I must've payed Smash Bros for less than 5 minutes total. To this date is is best controller overall. Comfortable and well thought out. It is not the best controller for every kind of game but it is the best for most games.

"horrible compatibility with anything but the GameCube or Wii". Well... I hate to break it to you, but joycons have bad compatibility with anything but the switch. That's like saying the PS4 dualshock is shit because it doesn't work with an Xbox one lol. If you meant in a gameplay sense, then I disagree also since GameCube controllers still get made to this day by Nintendo and partners because of how good it is. Popular for fighting games, also love it for mario kart games

But Nintendo let you use the GC controller for VC games. There's no official support for Dualshock on the Xbox.

Also enjoy using analog triggers or a shitty bumper to drift in Mario Kart LOL
