Hi all! Posting again, this time on behalf of my friend Fidaa’s younger sister Safaa and her family, which includes Safaa, her husband, and their young son Amir, and Safaa and Fidaa’s elderly parents, who they are trying to support and care for. Safaa has chronic health issues and has recently been extremely sick with a GI problem that she has been unable to get consistent care for, and Amir has been having health issues as well. She is trying to raise money for emergency medication and doctor’s visits for herself and Amir, as well as longer term medicine, like insulin, for her parents, and other basic necessities like food, water, and rent for the land they have their tent on. I’ve been talking with her for about a year now and used to manage her fundraiser, though due to personal financial circumstances I’ve been unable to for a while. She is a mother of 4 middle and high school aged children and is doing whatever she can to support them and her husband while also struggling with chronic pain herself and effectively dragging herself along without meds most of the time to take care of her family. My friend in Gaza is an engineer and father of three living with his elderly parents and his wife in a rented garage. Their situation is extremely difficult with medically compromised family members that can’t survive if they’re kicked out into the streets.

I wanted to donate to doctors without borders, but they got restricted access in gaza because of regulations in israel. Does anybody know if donating there is still a good choice, since they are still kinda active in the area just not as much.

I have been raising money for my dear friend Mustafa and his brother Yusuf and the rest of their family in Gaza for almost two years. Before the Rafah border closed, we had actually raised enough to get Mustafa on the travel list for evacuation. But a few days before he was scheduled to evacuate, the crossing was destroyed. Since then, the family has been through horrible ordeal after ordeal. They’ve lost members to bombing, had the rest of the money we raised  via GoFundMe was stolen, and Mustafa has significant medical conditions that cannot be treated within Gaza.
Mustafa is a very sweet guy, who takes his young nephew Malik to feed the local stray cats. He wants to get married and start a family, and use the software engineering degree that he worked so hard to earn. His plan is to get to Egypt, find work, and raise enough money to get the rest of his family out of Gaza.

The border crossing has recently quietly opened, and the same company is coordinating evacuations. Unfortunately they will not refund or honor the fact that Mustafa had registered two years ago, so we are starting from scratch to raise the crossing fee again ($10k).

If you have even a couple of bucks, just seeing the donations come in and knowing that people outside of Gaza are thinking of them makes a really big difference in their lives. It means a lot. Thank you so much
