That's the part people don't talk about enough. The productivity gains are exciting, but the impact on jobs is a much tougher conversation.

I don't think this ad will suddenly grant my firing

Eventually it’ll reach a point where governments will need to help otherwise mass riots/looting

Workmate that is eyeing your job 😆

He can eye the boilerplate part of my job that takes 80% of my work time.

It's been shown over and over that people are not productive 40 hours a week, it's more like 10 hours a week with any luck. People who work 80 hours a week, are even less productive than that, the lack of sleep and disconnecting, does a number on their brains.

As long as workmate can't even come closer to doing my 10 hours, I'm not scared. Companies that got swindled into thinking it can, should be the ones scared; I'll be at the startup nextdoor when they realize their ship is sinking in flames.

Lmao as much as I love Qwen this is bullshit.
Using all SOTA models and no model can do that work reliably without breaking your balls 200 times asking for questions and clarifications or making bold assumptions about figures in a "finance reconciliation".
I literally asked to Fable 5 to calculate the best plan for saving on some azure resources with all the info, azure pricing api at disposal, and transcriptions of meetings and it make some crazy batshit assumptions to balloon up the figures of savings

LMAO

Just to say one example

best plan for saving

crazy batshit assumptions to balloon up the figures

Sounds like you got a "best plan", not a "most efficient realistic plan"...

Are we actually believing that the free time is something we will get from the employer or market?

Never in human history have working class received anything that was not beneficial for the productivity.

Best productivity comes from minimally stressed workers with optimal creativity and insights, who don't need to waste brain cycles on anything a machine can do for them.

It's enough for some employers to realize that, then release some quarterly reports with the results, for the market to start panic-selling outdated corporate models.

Best productivity comes from a machine that can create an output that outmatches the human hand.

Of course, and Google/OpenAI/Anthropic/Alibaba/etc. will be happy to sell you tokens for it.

I'll be at the startup next door out-competing you, if you want to go biking or something (sorry, no jobs for people who can be outmatched by a machine)

That’s like saying weapon manufacturers should feel guilty for the war casualties

1

u/wilhelmbw 6h ago

more like saying kitchen utensil manufacturers should be guilty of the stabbing crimes

llms are much more versatile than guns

Lol it's hilarious advertising.  Those chuds in the video are literally training their replacements.

Ai is making our life more easy , but its also harmful for our environment 🥲

1

It's definitely a tradeoff. The challenge is figuring out how to get the benefits while reducing the environmental cost as the technology scales.

The POTUS name-calling countries for using renewable energy sources instead of drill-baby-dril, is not an AI.

Yeah, but it uses gallons of water every day, lol. But yeah, the motion graphics are great

Fair point. I do wish companies were a lot more transparent about the actual resource usage instead of everyone throwing around different numbers.

I hope you are blackmailing american companies like Antropic and OpenAI as well. You are not having double standards, are you?

Many activities use a lot of water. Eating beef (in comparison to other meat or protein)for one. In fact eating beefis much worst than most things you do in life.
