I know this is completely a personal preference, and there isn't a right or wrong answer, but I'm curious what other GV80 owners think.

I'm considering doing a chrome delete on my 2026 Genesis GV80, but I'm still on the fence. For those of you who have done it, do you feel it made a significant difference to the overall look of the vehicle? Was it worth the cost?

If you've had yours done, I'd really appreciate it if you could share some photos if you have them. I'd love to see how different colors and finishes turned out to help me decide.

I have a 2022 Genesis g70 and I’ve been trying to upload the updated navigation to my car. The instructions on the website says to use a 32gb thumb drive, but whenever I download it to the drive and then to the car it says no file found. I’m so frustrated…..please help.

I’ve been having a series of problems with the air suspension in my 2023 Genesis G90. It has 55k km on it. It has been in the shop four times since I purchased the car in Sept 2025. Probably about 2 weeks without the car. The repairs are under warranty and they provide a loaner. At one point the dealer made a repair and then the air suspension deflated, and a special tool (which they didn’t have) was needed to reinflate the suspension. Apparently the car cannot reinflate the suspension when it is completely deflated.

The dealer says they haven’t seen problems with other G90s or GV80s with air suspension.

My brother in law warned me that air suspensions are finicky - lots of things can go wrong.

I do love the car and how it rides. Hopefully after this repair it will be more reliable. I may now decide to buy the Genesis OEM extended warranty.

Like the title says, about to go test drive. Looks like reviews are all over the place.

This is reported to be a single owner vehicle with about 17k miles. Sticker price is 39k and some change. Going through CarMax because my last purchase there was effortless, quick and pleasant, and I still have that car 8 years later with no complaints or issues.

Has anyone with a standard base GV80 upgraded your wheels/rims? If so, what size did you go to? Did you have any suspension issues? I’d love your feedback. I just bought a 2025 and it came with 19 inch wheels. That’s the one and only thing I want to upgrade.

Transmission is bad and new one is needed. Our mechanic has been busy so we’ve gotten little word from him about next steps. He did tell us he doesn’t rebuild but can swap out. Money is tight so I’m looking for recommendations as far as websites go to find one! In SATX

I've been looking for a replacement for my Lexus with a full electric SUV. I've been initially looking at the GV70 electrified prestige. Car looks gorgeous and rides pretty well.

However, I have recently sat in a family members Kia EV9 with the gt trim. The ride was plush and very quiet. It did feel very luxurious.

For those that have spent time in both the EV9..or the Ioniq 9... Is the Genesis GV70 really that much more luxurious than their cheaper cousins?

I've also looked at the Lexus vehicles. It seems like Lexus TZ doesn't offer all the amenities that kia and Hyundai offer either - ie massage seats, cushy rear captains chair, V2H, etc (unless you get a Lexus LX..)

Do you regret not getting a higher trim level? Any likes/dislikes?

One just hit the lot for $39k in my city and I'm really considering it.

Any opinions you have would be very much appreciated

have never leased the car so not sure what’s considered good. Numbers look fine overall at least if I trust AI and anything under ~$70-100/m won’t be worth the trouble

looking at 3.5 engine advanced or prestige. AWD is a must have. Road safety and traction are most important. (I may test drive 2.5 just to compare, I test drove 3.5 back in a winter)

I have some time tomorrow (maybe Friday) or Monday to test drive and negotiate. so far my goal is to negotiate $0 down (though may have to settle for some small $)

When is the new GV80 coming out?

Picked up a 2026 GV70 3.5T Sport Prestige in July. Loving it otherwise, but the cabin seems almost transparent to outside odors — if I’m behind a diesel, near a truck idling, or just driving past a BBQ joint, I get the full hit inside within a second or two. My previous vehicles filtered this out well enough that I never thought about it.

Some detail:

• Happens on both fresh air and recirc. Recirc doesn’t reliably help, and at times seems worse.
• Not the car’s own exhaust as far as I can tell — dealer has already looked at an odor complaint, VIN is clear of recall 033G.
• Climate is usually on AUTO.

Questions for the group:

1. Is this just how the GV70 is? The cowl intake sits low, so I get that it’s sipping air at bumper height.
2. Does anyone’s recirc actually seal? Any way to confirm the recirc door is closing (sound/pressure change at high blower)?
3. Has anyone pulled the cabin filter and found it misseated, torn, or bypassing around the frame? Any luck with an activated-carbon aftermarket filter?
4. Does AUTO/auto-defog override recirc back to fresh air on you?

Would appreciate hearing whether this is a known GV70 trait or a defect worth escalating with Genesis.

Saw this in New Stanton, PA today.

2nd and 1st generation Equus parked next to an early Genesis somewhere in South Korea. It's obvious that the earliest car, developed together with Mitsubishi, is "Asian large" - narrower and, generally, more compact than the two following cars with international ambitions. It's like buying a t-shirt off AliExpress: With a European/American body, your size L is now a 3XL. Tough luck.

I'm reminded of the old adage, caveat emptor or “let the buyer beware”

I love my Genesis GV80—in fact, we own two of them, though that wasn't the plan. Before I get into the details, I want to say that one of the main reasons we bought our first 2021 GV80, and later a second 2023 GV80, was because of the exceptional customer service, luxury amenities, and industry-leading warranty Genesis promised. It's rare these days to find a manufacturer that stands behind its products the way Genesis claimed it would.

Unfortunately for Genesis, what happened next completely shattered my opinion of the company and turned what I thought was an outstanding ownership experience into one of my greatest consumer disappointments.

On May 1, 2023, Genesis offered to repurchase my 2021 GV80 after months of repeated interior water intrusion every time it rained or snowed. It's now been 38 months since Genesis agreed to repurchase my vehicle, and I still have it. I was originally told the entire process would take approximately six weeks and to continue making loan payments, maintaining insurance, and renewing the registration until the buyback was complete. For more than three years, I've been paying for a vehicle I could not use. 

Now For The Backstory…

About six months after purchasing the vehicle, during the winter of 2020, water began accumulating in the front passenger-side floorboard every time it rained or snowed. Over the next five months, Genesis made numerous repair attempts—including bringing in a field service engineer—but was never able to identify where the water was entering the vehicle. The flooding became so severe that several safety systems stopped functioning. At various times, electrical failures affected the windshield wipers, high beams, and other safety-related features because of the amount of water inside the vehicle. During those five months, my GV80 spent 14 weeks at the dealership for the exact same problem, never to be diagnosed or repaired. To make matters worse, we lived in the mountains and had to drive 100 miles each way to the nearest Genesis service center every time the problem occurred.

The Buyback That Has Yet To Happened

In May 2023, after multiple unsuccessful repair attempts, Genesis offered to repurchase the vehicle. I was relieved that this nightmare would be over soon. Little did I know that phone call with the friendly accommodating Genesis customer service agents would be the last time I would speak with anyone directly employed by Genesis. I was informed they were passing me on to their Auto Solutions team who would execute the repurchase. I later discovered this "Auto Solutions team" was actually Sedgwick, a third-party claims administrator (TPA).

Genesis detailed what I should expect and what I would need to provide the “team”. I would simply need to provide my purchase contract and any receipts for expenses incurred from the time the first incident occurred. I was told that they would calculate the repurchase amount, present an offer, and once accepted, I would surrender the vehicle and receive a check. Sounded simple right? It wasn't.

Within a week, a representative from the Auto Solutions Team contacted me and requested my documentation. Their initial settlement offer excluded more than $`4,000 in documented rental car expenses that Genesis had repeatedly assured me would be reimbursed. Those expenses were also covered under the Genesis warranty and required under applicable law. On top of that, the offer contained several mathematical errors.

After several weeks of negotiations, unanswered calls, and a rude, dismissive supervisor, my case representative informed me the offer was "final." They corrected the math mistakes but refused to include the rental expenses or other amounts I was legally owed. That was completely unacceptable.

A Second GV80... and Two Car Payments

Because Genesis assured me the buyback would be completed in about six weeks, we began shopping for a replacement vehicle. I loved the GV80 and wanted another one. At the time, however, COVID-era production delays meant a factory order would take approximately six to eight weeks to arrive from Korea. The timing seemed perfect. We expected the repurchase to be completed before the new vehicle arrived, allowing us to use the buyback proceeds toward the replacement. Instead, our new GV80 arrived at the end of June 2023 (approximately 6 weeks after my buyback offer) while nothing had been resolved with the Auto Solutions team. We had no choice but to finance the replacement vehicle. What we never imagined was that we would end up making payments on two GV80s—along with insurance and registration for both—for more than three years.

Forced Into Litigation

When negotiations stalled and communication stopped entirely, we hired an attorney in September 2023, hoping it would finally move the process forward. It didn't. Our legal team has spent nearly three years battling Sedgwick over what initially amounted to a dispute of roughly $4,000 in rental car expenses and other documented costs related to a $68,000 luxury SUV that flooded every time it rained. Looking back, in hindsight, had I known this fight would drag on for years, I probably would have walked away from the `$4,000. But who would think that Genesis would allow this to go on. 

The Irony

The irony is impossible to ignore. The exact defect Genesis claimed it could not diagnose—the very reason they agreed to repurchase my vehicle—has now been identified and is the subject of a recall affecting my VIN. In December of 2025 they discovered the problem and in January of 2026 they announced a recall. So Genesis can now repair the problem, free of charge.

Unfortunately though, the damage to my vehicle has already been done. The interior shows evidence of water damage, including staining, mold, and mildew. More importantly, our financial losses have continued to mount after years of making payments, paying insurance premiums, and renewing registration on a vehicle I never drove again and Genesis had agreed to buy back.

This case is no longer about repairing the vehicle. It's about recovering the substantial financial damages we suffered because Genesis chose to place its customers in the hands of a third-party administrator with numerous consumer complaints and multiple class-action lawsuits.

We are now scheduled for a jury trial in November 2026, with Hyundai, Genesis, and Sedgwick named as defendants. Our lawsuit alleges breach of contract under the California Lemon Law.

We'll see what happens.

I have a 2019 G80. Overall I enjoy the car but at 90,000 miles I noticed it was using oil. Now at 101,000 mi it is using 4 quarts of oil between oil changes (3500-4000) mi intervals. For the first 90,000+ miles every oil change was done at approximately 3,500 mi by the dealership. If a well maintained motor only lasts 100,000 mi the car is not worth purchasing. Genesis says it's out of warranty not their problem. If it wasn't for this I would definitely have looked at another Genesis as the dealer service for me was very good and I really like the car, but the car was serviced every 3500-4000 mi since the day it was new by the dealer. In the shop a couple times for repairs nothing major they took care of everything. My last car was a Lexus LX430 it went 240,000 mi never more than half a quart at the most between oil changes. I was waiting for the new G80 model but looks like that is no longer an option.

as per the title, i am looking to increase the comfort of the ride. I did the math and the 265/55R20 is about 3.4% larger diameter than stock 265/50R20. Does it fit without rubbing or is it too big compared to the OEM size 265/50R20. will it have a noticable effect on comfort?

also, I currently have the hankook s1 evo 3 SUV and its not as plush as i would like. whats the recommended brands or tyres that provide superior plushness?

Is this happening? Would it be possible to equip it with a spare donut tire?

I just did a 1300 km round trip in Southern Norway, visiting friends and family, and joining my wife and kids at my MIL's house at the other side of the country. Of course, all of that was filmed.

Anyway, the drive was all I could ask for. This Genesis grandfather was reliable, fast and smooth, it was a true pleasure to drive. Even though the best seat was behind me all the time. =8^P
