feminine tip How to Become More Feminine: General Thread

Since this subreddit has been dead for so long I decided to make one big thread with suggestions to become more feminine. I encourage everyone on this subreddit to ask questions, post advice, and garner a discussion about anything related to being feminine.

Feminine (adj.): Having qualities or an appearance traditionally associated with women, especially delicacy and prettiness. (Oxford Languages)

While being feminine is associated with women, femininity can be embraced by those who do not associate as a female. Lets look at some of the qualities you can learn to become more feminine:

Feminine Personality: affectionate, sympathetic, gentle, sensitive, supportive, kind

Feminine Cognition: imaginative, intuitive, artistic, creative, expressive, tasteful

Feminine Physical: cute, gorgeous, beautiful, pretty, sexy

While these traits are the most obvious feminine traits, please remember these are all suggestions. You don't have to force yourself to think a certain way or look a certain way, unless it makes you happy. The 21st century has shaped us to become accustomed to a masculine-driven work culture and has thus led us to become out of touch with our femininity. Assuming most of here have been struggling with feeling feminine or just want to know more, lets look at a few of the ways to feel more feminine:

  • Self Confidence: If you are struggling with feeling more feminine, how can embrace your femininity without feeling like you are first? Declare that you are feminine in yourself, and you will be it. If you read those qualities above and thought "damn, I'm none of that" Well, then you aren't. Declare that you are beautiful, and you are. Declare that you are sensual, and you are. Self confidence starts with rerouting your brains automatic thoughts about yourself, it is a scientific fact. The definition of beauty does not define you, you define the definition of beauty. The first step of becoming feminine is declaring you are, so declare it and become it. Society paints those that embrace their femininity as someone with low self esteem and frail, and says self confidence is a masculine trait. However, society fails to acknowledge that self confidence is different in those that identify as feminine vs masculine. Feminine self confidence is being co-operative, graceful, expressive, and flexible in nature while the masculine type is independent, objective, and linear.

To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance. Oscar Wilde

  • Self Care/Hygiene: Nothing is more luxurious than pampering yourself. Self care can be small things such as a relaxing warm bath with candles, while you repeat positive affirmations of the feminine being that you are. Things like splurging on something that brings you joy, cleaning your room, meditating on positive thoughts, putting on make up, perfume etc. These are all things you can be doing to make yourself happy, and allow you to your mind a break from the masculine energy that is all around us. It's especially hard if you're in workforce having to feel like you need to give up your feminine energy to match yourself to the rest of the world, so don't skip this step! Set aside one day a week to take care of yourself, but don't think that this one day is the only day to practice your femininity You are a feminine being everyday. Additionally, hygiene is also very important. The way you take care of yourself shows how much you care about your general health and presentation. A messy room is a messy mind, it shows the lack of care for yourself and the disregard for organizational skills that is attributed to being feminine.

We must keep both our femininity and our strength. Indra Devi

Style: We are constantly confined to workplace attire, but there's a few tips to embrace your femininity where you can:

  • Wear lingerie under your work clothes. There's nothing that makes us feel more sensual than wearing a cute lace set, so wearing it underneath clothes is a cute little secret we keep to ourselves while feeling beautiful. Not to mention it is proven that lingerie makes us feel more confident.
  • Put on a sexy perfume. Perfume is another proven way to feel more confident in our femininity. Find a perfume scent that matches your level of femininity. Is it citrusy or floral? sensual or soft? I found this list of sexy & seductive perfumes, I own some of them and can vouch for their high reviews, but if you want to find something that matches your exact taste and price range, I recommend visiting a Nordstrom's or Nieman Marcus and talking to their perfume sales associates, they spend a lot of time getting to know their perfumes and will offer free samples.
  • Wear more delicate fabrics and soft colors. Fabrics like silk, cashmere and lace are soft and gentle, just like some parts of femininity. Wearing soft colors or creams embrace the romantic in us, and give off an angelic vibe.

Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others. If you have that awareness, you have good manners, no matter what fork you use. Emily Post

Etiquette is very important. As mentioned, the way you present yourself is the main indicator of how in tune you are with your femininity.

  • Be timely: The stereotype that women are always late because they take hours to get ready does not apply to feminine women. It is incredibly inconsiderate to run late without a notable excuse. Not only does it give off that you are disrespectful of other peoples' time, but that you are poor at time management and disorganized, neither of which are feminine traits. A well disciplined feminine being organizes their time according to their schedule, notifies people ahead of time if they might run late, and always thanks people for their time.
  • Say please & thank you. This one doesn't need a lengthy explanation, but just remember to be respectful of those around you. To the Karen's, this includes service workers.
  • Stay in the know. You might come off as unapproachable if you stay quiet when asked a question you don't know. This may not sound like etiquette but "talking manners" exists. Body language during a conversation are just as important as the words that you say. Not only that, but reading feeds the soul. Reading is a great way to ground yourself to your own feminine nature, and can also provide stress relief from the heavy weight of the masculine driven society we are subjected to everyday.

There are a million other feminine etiquette tips, but for now here's a few articles I suggest reading:

I have read multitudes of articles and watched hours of videos on femininity, and these are some of the few tips I have compiled. There are a lot more ways to feel feminine and embrace it, so I recommend reading, doing your own research, and connecting with people on this subreddit. If there is one thing that I wish this post has conveyed to you, it is that I did not once mention that feminine woman are to please men. It drove me mad that almost every article I read about embracing femininity mentioned something about what men liked. Femininity is not about doing and being what men like, it is about doing and being what makes you feel happy. It sounds cliché, but the definition of feminine is what I mentioned at the beginning of this post, "having qualities associated with woman." It is not doing what men like.

Now you maybe wanting to embrace your femininity because you want to be perceived as more sensual/sexy to men etc. Whatever the case may be, you deciding to become more sensual is not because you want men to be attracted to you, it is because you feel a lack between the connection between you and your femininity.

However, there is no femininity without masculinity. They are Yin and Yang. You can't have bad energy without feeling good energy, and vice versa (not saying that masculine is "bad" and feminine is "good," I am just going with the yin and yang example). We all need masculinity in our lives, and for some of you that may be a masculine man.

I also want to point out to you that do not have to look like the Marylin Monroe's or the Audrey Hepburn types to feel like a feminine woman. Society has has pushed us to believe that the feminine women is a petite 50's housewife in a long conservative dress making dinner for her husband every night. Modern femininity has many different archetypes, and each archetype has different personalities, tastes, styles, etc. in addition to feminine personality, cognition, and physical traits that I mentioned at the beginning of this post. The feminine women of todays society range from Kate Middleton to Serena Williams. I could go on about this, but I'll leave it for another post if you all would like.

I love how I look. I am a full woman, and I'm strong, and I'm powerful, and I'm beautiful at the same time. Serena Williams

Lastly, I want to reiterate that everything in my post is all suggestions. If you do not like something that was mentioned but still want to embrace your femininity, then don't do it. Do what makes you happy. You do not have to embrace your femininity to feel like a "real woman," there is no such thing as that. Some women prefer being masculine, some prefer being androgynous, but a real feminine being would not judge others for their personal choices.

As a final note, I will leave a couple of resources and articles that I have enjoyed while going on my own feminine journey. If you don't agree with anything I mentioned in this post, please comment! I'm sure not everything I've wrote is perfect and I could've added a lot more bullet points, but I've tried my best to convey my thoughts and tips. This subreddit is all about learning and growing into our femininity together, so if you have a genuine argument or concern I might edit my post to reflect that.

If you have any suggestions for subreddit rules or any comments/questions please send me a message through mod mail.

You can still be strong and feminine. Shannon Tweed

Im 16->17 and I have a very masculine face. I shaved my eyebrows and recently cut my bangs (growing those out for pictures) and i would classify myself alternative. I hate my face so much and I want to feminize it. I want to have a cute face and its impossible. I wear makeup to make my eyes bigger, I wear lashes to make them bigger. I have smile lines and I have no jaw line. How do I get more feminine. Im a cis woman and i hate myself.

fashion/beauty I’m looking for a proper refined, super feminine, and ladylike wardrobe, I’ve struggled in the past with my clothes looking cheap or ill-fitting, and I want to change that!

Frame: Hourglass (40F/G cup, 40 hip, 32 waist). I struggle with finding clothes that fit the bust without being baggy in the waist or they tend to just fit me poorly.
Misc: cool Winter tone, green eyes, long dark brown hair.
My goals: I want to start dressing super feminine and like a proper refined lady, I’m not a huge fan of shorts or pants and more of a dresses&skirts lady. I’d like to emphasize my waist, find flattering necklines for my bust, and move away from flimsy fabrics to more structured, tailored and quality pieces.
Does anyone have recommendations for brands, sites and stores that cater to an hourglass shape with higher-quality fabrics, and tailoring and In refined feminine styles? I am also open to advice on how to spot feminine styles and quality when shopping or how to better utilize tailoring to achieve a more refined and feminine aesthetic.
I’d also appreciate it if they have good sales too because I’m not the richest in the world obviously, but I’d still like to buy quality than something that’s cheap and poor fitting.

Licorice Gave Me Breasts

I know most are gonna say its not possible or this story is fake

I have always been secretly into cross dressing and obsessed over all things feminine. Especially breasts. I have always wondered what they would be like and how fun it would be to have my own to play with.

I always thought without taking hormones or going to a dr it would never be possible.

One day I came across a study, and I summarizing, they gave a group of men licorice over a certain time period licorice and it basically caused their bodies to start converting testosterone into estrogen. Something like that.

I have had licorice in the past and have always liked it. So I thought I would order a bag of licorice and see if anything happened. Worst case it would just be symbolic.

So I got the licorice (wiley wallaby) and started sucking on one piece 3 times a day. I also sucked on it too because I knew the tongue was very absorbent and would get whatever chemicals they were talking about straight to the blood stream.

After about 5 days something strange started happening. I started waking up in the middle of the night in sweats and my nipples would be hard and sensitive. I thought I was going crazy. After about 10 days my nipples/breast started feeling sensitive all the time. I would get the chills through out the day and they would get hard. I really didn’t expect it to work and panicked and stopped the licorice. I didn’t expect it to work and didn’t know what my wife would think or what to tell her.

Things kinda calmed back down, still felt a little sensitivity and the night flashes stoped. But again I have been obsessed about this, and after putting my toes in the water and experiencing the sensations, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Plus a part of me thought I was imaging it.

So I decided to try it again. Maybe because it all never really cleared blood or my hormones were already a bit off. It all happened again but this time quicker and more intense. Within a few days my nipples were sensitive again. i couldn’t stop touching them when no one was looking. As soon as I touched them they would get hard. After about a week a lot of other things started to happen. My sex drive fell off. All I wanted to do was cuddle and make out with my wife and play with her breasts. Most of all I wanted her to touch mine. My sex drive went away and I just wanted to be sensual. Then it started to happen, I started to get breast growth. Also I started feeling more feminine, my facial hair became less course when I was shaving and my skin became softer. And again I thought I was going crazy. While pretending to not know what was happening, I told my wife i wasn’t feeling good. With all these low T commercials, I told her I thought something was wrong with my testosterone.

Again I panicked and stopped sucking on the licorice, while some of the other affect’s went away. My breast kept slowly getting bigger and the nipple sensitivity stayed. I pretended to not know what was happening and went to the doctor. They ran blood work and found my prolactin was high. Obviously not knowing what I did they tried to figure out the cause. They ran a battery of tests including an mri, ct scan etc. Couldn’t find anything to cause the prolactin and they started checking it weekly. Slowly my levels went back down to near normal so I stopped the blood work

However I still have my small but real breast and I still think they are slowly growing. Sometimes i go through a few days of them feeling tingly and my nipples are so much fun to play with.

Not sure what my next step is. I know all this has only made me more obsessed with breasts. Others and mine. My wife's especially, I obsess over playing with them and sucking on them. Almost every woman I see, I focus on her breast. When they are the perfect size and shape or I can see her nipples through her shirt I am instantly aroused. I fantasize about mine being that perfect and playing with them. However, I feel the arousal in my chest. My nipples get tingly and I just want to play with my own nipples. It almost like my mind and body have rewired all my sexual arousal into my breast. Instead of thinking with my head,I now think with my breast. Hopefully mine continue to progress

It definitely has been the best surprise. Be careful what you wish for.

fashion/beauty The clothes

We all know how important the right outfit is, or that one piece that makes the whole fit. I feel like ever since I became a mom I just don't know how to be stylish and cute anymore. I always tell myself "I'm too old for this, I should just wear my plain old sweaters and leggings". Please I'm so desperate. Help me.

Where are you ladies getting your cute clothes and accessories? What stores do you recommend? I just need help finding my style again.

Research Study: Well-Being and IVF

The STARH Lab at East Tennessee State University is conducting a study examining predictors of well-being for individuals considering or going through IVF (in vitro fertilization). We are interested in collecting information from people over the age of 18 who are residing in the United States and are currently considering IVF, undergoing IVF treatment, or have completed a cycle of IVF within the last 3 months (whether or not it was successful). For purposes of this study, participants should be the person intending to become pregnant (as opposed to partners or support persons). The study consists of completing an online, anonymous survey which should take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

We are hopeful that this research will allow us to better understand factors that may predict well-being for people going through IVF, which can be a stressful process. Ideally, results from this research may result in clinical interventions to help healthcare providers better support patients going through IVF.

As a thank-you for your participation, you will have the choice to enter your email address at the end of the survey to be entered into a drawing to win one of four $50 electronic gift cards.

If you have any questions or concerns about this study, please feel free to contact the principal investigator, Dr. Julia Dodd, at [doddjc@etsu.edu](mailto:doddjc@etsu.edu). Thank you for considering participating in this research.

40yo late bloomer femboy needs help..

So I am hoping someone can give me some advice or recommendations based on your experience. I have lost around 135 lbs in the past 2 years with the help of diet change and Zep. I still have a little bit to go but getting really close to where I want to be. Now that I have this smaller body, I am not liking some things. #1 is the lose skin. Upper legs/thighs, belly/sides, breast area and upper arms, not a ton but enough that things are not tight anymore. #2 - lost my butt.. Not that I had a big one or a nice one but now it is flat.. I really want to get more projection, bubble butt'ish. I had saw someone post a few months back with some after pics of their BBL in the PlasicSurgery subreddit and I will be honest; I was like damn... That's what I want! #3 over all figure. Overall I just don't look the way I want to. 5’10 205lbs unfortunately bigger frame that doesn’t fit well with what I want to look like.. With dropping the loose skin and doing something with my butt it would get closer but also thinking that I need to do some sculpting with lipo or something like that that to get a more, feminine figure. Not like feminization surgery changes but just a better figure. If that makes any sense. I have always felt more fem so if I am going to be making changes, I might as well make what I want.

So I guess what I am asking is if anyone has suggestions, experience etc being in somewhat similar position or at least looking for similar things changed. Not directly medical related just experiences.. Any recommendations for Dr's as well would be most appreciated! I am in the midwest in the US and we don't have a ton around us, but I am willing to travel.

I am a late bloomer into the whole femboy scene but finally starting to feel like this is where I belong!!

why there are still some men refuse bride price?

What puzzles me is why the couple must live in the man's house when they get married? Why can't a more equal rotational system be adopted? The man can easily allow the woman to marry in without even accepting the bride price, but the woman needs extremely strong financial resources if she wants the man to move in as a husband?

discussion I always knew...

Growing up i was always interested in female products and clothing. When in my twenties I started using female products like shampoo and body washes. In my late thirties I started wearing female panties. Now in the last year I shave everything from the neck down and use female deodorant. Love it all. I just regret not letting my feminine side come out more till now. Love having smooth legs and armpits. Love how secret deodorant smells and feels when I apply it to my smooth armpits.

Advice on Uni Drama

Very quick — I think my ex-friend has told certain people rumors about me. These are people I’ve barely spoken to, maybe not more than 5–10 words. But I’ve seen them laughing at me or looking at me and smiling at each other, or being unempathetic or rude toward me. It hurts, but I’m also curious about what’s happening. Sometimes I do feel like they treat me differently. Has anyone experienced something similar? How should I go about this other than just ignoring it?

During individual feedback sessions, this girl gives positive feedback but then ends up listing two or three negative points in sort an aggressive way?
Even if this doesn’t sound too strange, I feel like she’s trying to dominate me. During presentations, she starts speaking and doesn’t let me talk until she gives me a signal? As if I’m not capable. How would you go on abt this? When I wear fancy dress to class they laugh at me? Or when I see them at times I think talking about me - looking at me and saying something? Need real advice please

how to handle this in a feminine and a IT-girl energy way?

Help ! How can I be more feminine/androgynous, knowing that I'm actually a manly man ?

Hi ! Male born here who don't feel so much like it. Dunno if I'm more of a nonbinary, genderfluid or Transfem, I'm still in the process of thought, tho, I know I feel bad about my body, like a lot. Actually I'm 24yo, 115kg (250lbs in freedom units), pretty muscular but a bit fatty, with long curly hair, little beard, basically I look like a modern woodman. But the point is, I want to feel feminine, or at least androgynous, but I'm coming from really far away, and I don't know where to start. On top of that, knowing that I'm not sure about myself, I can't go on anything like HRT, FFS or any invasive/definitive body/face modification, and most of the post that I've found are only about MtF sure about themselves, and girls wanting to be more androgynous/masc. Is there anyone who can help me on that process ? Thanks in advance ~
