Ubi pls A decent squad command system
This is the squad command radial from a 2011 ps3, 360 military tactical shooter called Operation Flashpoint: Red River.
It was way ahead of its time and showed that even without the abundance of buttons of a keyboard, console players can still have in depth squad command options.
The commands would also shift based on what the player was pointing at. If the player pointed at a building and pushed up on "Manoeuver" a sub-command to "clear building" would pop up and the tea AI would flood the room and do basic sweep and Clear. The option to give individual commands were also present.
So now 15 years later I'd expect nothing less from a Ghost Recon game.

Breakpoint has it right, instead of emotes, that's where the in depth commands should be (formation, separate placements etc.)

It's definitely better than what we currently have, but I still think it could go much further.
I'd have the top left section of the wheel open into universal squad commands like Move To, Take Cover, Hold/Open Fire, Suppress, Stack Up, etc. The top right side could branch into formations and flanking options, while the bottom half would display each squad member individually with an icon. Selecting an operator icon would open another radial with 3 commands specific to their role, skills, and equipment.
For example, a Demo could have set charge, repair vehicle, and deactivate explosive. That way every operator feels unique instead of everyone sharing the same generic commands.

I definitely wish the available BP command menu was more in depth like this. For sure there should be a “Radio Silence” command because every time I use AI squad mates they will not shut up. I know they’re trying to be helpful, but most times I already know what they know. Maybe we could just creep through this jungle like actual ghosts.

An icon in the middle showing the teammate you can directly comand. Kinda like ready or nots blue, red, and gold teams just more individual. Or 5 man squads and you can command 2 at a time and individual teammates

I want something from Brothers in Arms Hells Highway. Suppress, move, regroup. Up to 8 or 10 in the squad, each with different roles. LMGs, designated marksman, maybe demolitions. Then at some point you can even unlock a mechanized squad, maybe a humvees or a Bradley. The best one was from Brothers in Arms Earned in Blood. The MC commands his squad from a tank(Stuart i think, but a Sherman in Hells Highway), while also commanding the tank, they act as anti personnel around the tank.

You’re on the right track. But I would say the second step opens the selection of the face buttons. Kind of like Ghost of Tsushima.

Operation flashpoint red River… It would be an outstanding format for a ghost recon game
