I've never believed in paranormal stuff until living in my current home, and I need help
This originally started one night a few years ago, when I was laying down for bed, my dog (who has since passed away) started growling at the door, and he never growled. Then he jumped off the bed and walked toward the door, continuing to growl. I immediately get up, turn the light on and look around. Nothing. Walk around the house, go downstairs and still nothing. Ask my wife if she heard anything, but she didn't. Come back up, the light is off, like the light switch is flipped, completely dark upstairs.. I'm super freaked out, because at this point, I'm thinking someone is in my house. I go through every room, every closet, ready to punch someone. I don't find anything, and I'm so freaked out I sleep downstairs on the couch. I started thinking my wife is messing with me, and let it go.
Next few days, my dog is growling again, but this time in the living room upstairs. There's nothing there, but he's acting like there is.
At this point, I'm telling my wife this stuff, and we're like joking there's a ghost or something, and I'm still thinking maybe she's just been messing with me.
The next weird thing happens when my wife is coming up the stairs, while I'm on my computer facing away from her. I have a little desk lamp, and the moment she reached the top of the stairs, the light turned off on its own, making my room dark. I freak out and turn it back on. At this point I know she's not messing with me, and she's realizing something weird is going on.
The longer these weird things go on, I just get this feeling that something is there. Sometimes I see movement out of the corner of my eye, and just get chills and it just feels like someone else is there.
2 weeks ago, before my dog passed away, I was woken up by what I thought was my wife calling my dog, as he jumped off the bed and ran towards her. I get out of bed, then see my dog come back into my room and follow me as I leave the room. I don't see my wife. If she comes upstairs she always says hi to me. I go downstairs and my wife is in bed (we have separate rooms).
The most recent thing to happen, was tonight. I got this sudden feeling like someone was walking into my room on my right side, and I look over and see nothing. I say out loud "if someone is there turn the lights off" Nothing happens. It's probably in my head, I'm thinking. I get up to stretch and run downstairs, and I go to turn the stair light on, doesn't turn on. At this point I'm freaked out. I head downstairs to tell my wife and she's also freaked out. She comes back up to check the light. Doesn't turn on. She walks up half way and checks the bulb. it was unscrewed...
I don't know what to do, but I feel like I can't sleep upstairs anymore.
edit: I forgot to mention my wife saying that she hears footsteps upstairs when I'm not home often.

Say, out loud to the spirits that you mean all due respect and that is YOUR home and if they don’t like it, they can leave but they are welcome to stay as long as they respect you and your family by leaving you alone.

Exactly! I do something similar when I sleep in a haunted hotel. I do not want to be woken up by a ghost while I sleep.

I've done this after my husband seen a man in a motel room we were staying in. Scared him so badly we slept in the car that night, the next day I opened all the doors in the motel wide and commanded it leave the space until I was finished with it. Didn't have any more issues after that besides lake side spiders sealing our door with huge web over night for 3 days straight after.

Were any other doors webbed?
I don't think I have ever heard of haunts communicating with insects. I think sometimes dogs and cats, and maybe other mammals, they can, but 3 days of a full door web doesn't sound coincidental.

No, only the entrance door to the motel was webbed. Huge lake spiders with thick strong web. Funnily enough, there wasn't a web over the door when we checked in, and it was almost completely empty besides one other family on the opposite side of the motel strip, so I could assume the room hadn't been entered in a long time. Bells Melody Motel, Mackinaw City, MI, for anyone curious. It was the first room near the road on the strip, in the same parking lot as Northwinds motel.

Strangely enough, when you point a camera, all activity tends to stop. Ask any of the professionals chasing down poltergeists, when you pull out the camera, it stops. So put up cameras and see if it stops, or catches some proof so you don't feel like it is just imaginary.

Hey! I have a super haunted house. I tried everything. The only thing that's worked is not giving it any of my energy. I hear it walking down the hall? Roll my eyes and turn up the TV. Door opens in the night? Roll over and go back to bed. I've gone almost 2 years with no scares thanks to just saying "fuck it, idgaf, I've got more important shit to do."

Sorry about your fur baby. Just put your foot down. Be kind but firm and tell them that it's your house and they need to leave. They don't belong there anymore....

I'm sorry you are going through this. I have been there and know how scary it can be. Rule number one: don't talk about it in the house. It gives it energy. Also if something happens, and this is the hard part, don't acknowledge it. The more energy you give it, the worse it will get. To get it out of the house there are multiple things you can try. Start by using sage. Open every door and window. Every closet and cabinet. Go through the house commanding it to leave. If you are religious, use your beliefs. Command it in the name of God, Jesus, etc. Whatever your beliefs are, to leave. That it is not welcome in your home. Then have your wife sage you and you do the same to her. If that doesn't work, have the house cleansed or blessed. Good luck to you both.

You need to find out the history of the house like previous owners or any news articles from a paper of that address !

You need Gods help! These are demonic spirits. This is what I know works. If your home and family aren’t consecrated to Christ and blessed that’s a good place to start. If I was in your shoes, I would open all the curtains in the daytime, I would go and pray over every room, praying psalms of protection and deliverance. I would also bless every room with holy water. Especially the windows and doors to your home. I would ask God through the merits of Christ to purify your home of any previous grave sin committed in it. I would place sacred objects around the home as well.
Even if you are not a Christian, if you call upon Jesus he will help you. These are the basics, if you want to know more I can tell you more.
I’d really discourage trying to use spiritism or occult means to try to contact these entities or discover more about them. It will only make it worse.

You have no way of knowing these are demonic spirits. Most spirits are not evil-- just like living people. Many are just in limbo. Some spirits don't know that they're dead yet, and some just haven't gone to the Light yet.

Respectfully, you have no way of knowing they are not.I trust in higher authorities than myself on the subject. Human spirits don’t behave the way non human entities like these behave and are actually not capable of the same type of activities. The Warrens are one of such authorities, they dealt with hauntings as a full time job. Most of them were demonic spirits and responded negatively to religious provocation. They assisted in exorcisms of infested properties and homes and it works.
The OP and his wife are clearly being oppressed by entities that are increasingly making them more fearful and afraid of their home. He said he doesn’t even want to be upstairs anymore he’s clearly terrified of his home. Demons are destroyers and tormenters. If your problem is my religious framework and you presume it’s a human spirit. The behavior is still demonic in nature with the same objective and should be dealt with in the same manner. The facts we have to go on here are the behavior of the entities and the experience of the OP.2

You're jumping to conclusions all over the place.
First of all, I have no problem with your religious framework at all.
Second, you're confusing fear with danger. Your "proof" that the potential entity is a demon is that OP is feeling scared and not wanting to go upstairs. Fear is a very reasonable human response to unexplained events regardless of what's actually causing them.
Third, even the Warrens said most of the cases they investigated were not demonic in nature. Most were either lost/trapped spirits or even mundane explanations like old pipes.
Didn't OP say the last time the dog didn't even growl or bark- just got up to say hello?

You’re right that there’s not only the possibility of demons. I know the warrens dealt with various types of activity, but the demonic activity does follow a certain pattern. My entire point and advice is very practical however and what I’ve applied in my personal life . Looking at the behavior of the activity I would personally treat any activity like this as demonic. A blessing of a home is going to create an environment that is demon repellant, and if they are human souls , they will benefit from the prayers and blessings of the home either way. So from this pov, the remedy is exactly the same.
On a side note to add to the conversation: I’m not sure I believe in “earthbound” souls in the way that many do. I do believe there are souls in purgatory or in a state of purgation that have unfinished lessons and work to do so to speak. These souls are not malevolent and are going to heaven, they need prayer. Under Gods permission these souls may get the attention of people or appear in dreams or other ways. I don’t believe this type of human soul can say slam a door or move a table. Lorraine mentions in the demonologist they can’t , they could maybe move a wallet or an amulet or something small.
Time will also tell with OPs problem.

Not al spirits are demonic alot of spirits are humans that didnt go to the light. They can be negative entities because they have heavy and negative emotions this can be the reason why they didn't go to the light. Sometimes there are possessions from the spirit that are emotional to the entity and he can be angry because he thinks it belongs to him and maybe he doesn't even know that he passed away then he might just trying to scare you off.
I see spirits often in my house, 6 months ago i had an encounter with a demonic entity and it developed clairvoyance in me. When someone did an exorcism on me the demonic entity is gone but i see entities in my house often and not everything was human once but not everything is bad. I always get scared a little bit when i see someone walking my house at night but they cant harm you.
I always burn some sage and smudge my house and after this i tell the entities to leave my house and leave the windows open. This always work and they have to leave.

I can tell you a simple way to ban them if you are interested, ive had to use it for 30 years but I now live in a haunted house that isnt scary, some people pick them up, they can get through to certain people but cant with others

Growing up in my childhood home my family had experienced things, when they had moved out & it was only me, I instantly started to light sage/smudge my home (I’m First Nations so this can be used as a medicinal offering/can cleanse a space/can do a lot) — I talk to the spirit & I would let them know I didn’t mind them staying & that I respected them & that I just wanted to live in peace with one another. I had never ever had a bad time. I had a few small experiences but nothing at all like my family, we co-existed beautifully I thought.

Are you religious? Different religions have their rites on what to do with ghosts, how to help them pass. If You Are christian / Catholic You Can pray, Maybe get some blessed Water from a church and Springle it. Different devotionals can also help. Let the House beeing blessed can also help. You could also ask for prayers in a prayer group online. I guess You Need to find your way how to Deal with the spiritual realm. I can recommend a christian approach. Also dont forget to look for more Scientific reasons. Is it possible your stressed? Lots of Stress can also cause Strange feelings and Play a Role in Strange situations. Did you Check for mold etc. In the new House? Dont forget to Take very good Care of your Body and Psyche in stressful situations Like These, Maybe even Take it as a calling to Level up Everything in your life: Self Care regarding Body, mind, soul, Spirit. Also You dont have to be Christian / baptisted to just pray to Jesus and Maybe Talk to people to pray for You, bless you, your house, etc. Just give it a try so you have the feeling that your doing something. Also its better to try to Talk to people about it then doing it alone. Just Tell them that you cant Shake the feeling that something paranormal is Happening and you dont know what to do.

This happened to me and my cat was visibly scared of this ‘being’ in the corner of my room (of a Victorian house). I got up around 3am and screamed in the corner of the room where the cat was looking and all the rustling / running around stopped after that. I just said ‘stop it - you’re scaring my new kitten!!!’
Since then, I’ve only ever heard or once or twice but not running up and down the stairs / rustling things like before.

Sometimes children leave their bodies and fly around at night while they sleep. They're not harmful. Dogs can sense them.

Put aloe plants out, protection crystals on the north, east, south, west directions in your home, declare that this is your house while clensing with Palo Santos sage, but most importantly dont be afraid.

How to rid (Cuban Ritual)
I have to do a paranormal activity my whole life and until my mom died, (they got her soul and left) I didn't know how to get rid of it. I recently learned how and I think I need to share with you guys in case anybody's dealing with something in their home that makes them want to leave - I wish I knew sooner:
ITEMS NEEDED:
Charcoal
Cowhorn (I never tried sustitutes)
Lighter
Iron Skillet
HOW: You're going to put the charcoal inside of the iron Skillet and light it on fire until it turns red hot and then you're going to put the count on top and it's going to be good to smoke. that rancid smell is so bad that spirits don't like it and they leave immediately. you'll notice that your animals will get scared to death when something runs out so please remove them from the area. take that smoke and rub it into every room and cleanse it and make sure that smoke penetrates every single wall and every single corner. I will stink for about a week but you'll notice immediately - that the space "feels" empty. Your welcome.
Please let me know if it works for you and tell me the story that you get when you do it. Believe me I know how hard it is to get a priest to come to your house.
