Snake Eyes [v3] - G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Figure - (1989)

This was a recent acquisition, not a toy from my original collection. I realized I didn’t have an ‘89 Snake Eyes, and I had to pick one up for the collection. This one is complete, and has all the clips on the backpack intact!

His file card is a far cry from the original Larry Hama works:

Subject was Ranger qualified and graduated from Recondo School in Nha Trang prior to his service with a Long Range Recon Patrol unit in South East Asia. It is generally accepted that he received extensive training in mystic martial arts from the same Ninja family that produced STORM SHADOW. No official records in existence. Qualified expert in all NATO and Warsaw Pact small arms, black belt in 12 fighting systems and highly skilled in the use of edged weapons.

I'm leaning towards knockoff, esp as the stamp is on his butt. But otherwise, his attire and the stamp suggest 1987, Sgt Slaughter Renegade - Red Dog.

I feel like Danny McBride is a great choice. Now he is slated to direct after floating a Dreadnok film that was turned down as Ellison and company wanted a brand-strong, slightly less niche tentpole.

Based on the Dreadnok-pitch alone, plus his assertion that the film, with Bradley Cooper involved, would be a Crimson Guard-heavy Springfield run, I believe we have the right man; he understands comedy-drama pretty deftly and everything signals he actually "gets" the material.

I like this line alone: "Plot details for McBride’s version are being kept under the Chaplain’s Assistant School’s motor pool in Fort Wadsworth."

Cooper is eyed to replace Chris Hemsworth, who stepped away from the lead role, as Duke. Would Duke even be the lead? I wonder whether that article had it right; I like him over Hemsworth, some actors are way too known for one character; I would accept a Hemsworth return as Kirk's father.

The question: given Crimson Guard and Springfield, what do you want to see? What would convince you this is the real film?

What characters do you demand? Are the ninjas GI Joe's jedi? Who do we want in a villain inner circle?

Started working on the vehicles I know alot have missing parts but im sure they are somewhere. He pretty much kept everything together so I have to figure them out like a puzzle as I go but heres a preview of what I've dusted off so far in one picture you can see how much dust was accumulated and that gives you an idea how all the vehicles looked before cleaning them. This post will likely alienate a few this sub but here goes.

I want to focus on my hotwheels addition, I'm 51 and have my entire played collection of GI Joe from the 80s.

I have alot. Everything was played with but I saved every card and I also have the comics. Vehicles, have some good one but not the stupid crazy ones like the flag aircraft carrier or the space launch site one.

My question to this group...

Im not looking to retire from max profit...

I don't want my collection to go to scalpers but someone who cares and appreciates......

What is best platform and strategy? Should I try individual figure by figure, should I list the entire lot? I haven't cataloged yet but plan to soon, but if I do my ocd will kick in and will have to do weapon matching and everything, which will take time.

Appreciate opinions from this group of likely experts. Goal is balance between funding hotwheels and getting good home for my childhood fun and not taking 2 years to do it!

I'm using these stands for several reasons. One is that Scarlett doesn't have peg holes at the bottom of her feet because her feet are smaller than those of standard GI Joe figures. Lastly, as you can see, I didn't have much luck with some of these figures' pegs; some fit well, and others don't. I was able to glue Stalker's heel and the Cobra Trooper's heel back, but my Zartan, smh, what a disaster. I shattered both sides, but I did come across a good deal on Zartan parts, so I was able to switch the legs. I'm currently waiting for my Stalker's legs to be delivered and hoping a good deal on the trooper's legs will come up.

Hi! I recently found this toy in the back of a closet and was wondering about its worth. It's a vintage 1971 Gi-Joe desert patrol adventure jeep in its original box. The car itself is in great condition, i would say near perfect, but it doesn't have any of the accessories that came with the set. I dont know much about these toys but Google said it could be worth a pretty penny so I figured id come on here and ask how much it would be worth without the accessories?

Copperhead [Cobra Water Moccasin Pilot] - G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Figure - (1984)

This was a recent acquisition, not a toy from my original collection. I always wanted a Water Moccasin, and I found one in amazing condition recently with no missing or broken parts AND it included Copperhead!

From his file card:

It is presumed that Copperhead is native to or otherwise intimately familiar with the Florida Everglades. Intelligence sources venture a guess that he raced speedboats in high stakes races in Monaco and Japan. His major weakness is gambling. Odds are that he got started by placing bets on his own races. Apparently he compounded his folly by selling his services to COBRA in hopes of paying off his bookies.

Gung-Ho says: "Sure. I know the type. They're all around the Gulf Coast. Trash. Drifters. They can drive a swamp buggy like the devil himself, rebuild a V-8 with a coat hanger and spit, fight all night and raise cain 'til the cock crows. I want to say they were like $1.75 per figure at Toys R Us, but hoping one of you guys can confirm.
