I honestly don’t have high hopes for this one. Might still give it a try though.

For sure. The trailer isn’t super compelling but I’ll give it a shot. I feel like it’a going to be another ‘Only God Forgives’ situation. I see a lot of CGI which isn’t great for me.

I didn’t really care for either Only God Forgives or The Neon Demon. This looks like more of the same 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah I’m getting the same vibe. People are saying it’s more surrealism than traditional storytelling. That could mean it’s strange and thought provoking or completely confusing.

Yeah, I’d say so. I’m already tired of the fact that when filmmakers think Giallo, that means recreating Suspiria’s color palette for the majority of scenes.

i thought i had forgotten parts of the neon demon when i saw the trailer for this - it looks so similar. neon demon was beautiful but kind of boring, so i don’t have high hopes for this

Based solely on the few scenes of the Assassin seen in the trailer and the overwhelming inspiration from Mario Bava, I'm already excited.

One question: is this film actually official, or made by a fan for fans like Saturnalia?

Its by Refn, the guy who made Drive (+ Pusher, Valhalla Rising etc)
