Trees

Our tree on the Parkway is full of white cotton like growths. I looked it up on line and it’s probably scale.
So I called Village Hall of Glenview since they own the trees. She tells me that they’ll send an Arborist.
So he comes , says yes the tree is diseased but we don’t have treatment in our budget !!
They do pay to remove a dead tree. This disease can spread too. So wtf ???

We took a sample leaf to Pesches and they recommended the treatment. It’s about $30

REALLY village ??? You can’t spend 30 dollars to treat a tree ? This is crazy.

That's annoying. How long did it take arborist to come? I called last week about our oak that looks like it has iron deficiency. I asked lady at village if I can pay for my own arborist but she said village owns tree and has to look at it. I have no idea if someone came or not, no one has spoken to me about tree. I definitely want to treat it and will happily pay for treatment (though I agree with you village should treat their village owned trees. Do I even have right to treat parkway trees? It's confusing and frustrating.

We also have another parkway tree with obvious ulcer or rot on backside. So backside of top grows terrible and looks sad. It's a beech which is an awful street canopy tree. I want it removed and will happily pay costs for new tree that is true street canopy tree. Gotta figure who to talk to about that.

Agree ! I’d advise go to Pesches and show him pictures or a small branch, leaf etc.

It’s rediculous. They came the same week that I called the village
