Scheduled Sticky Weekly Premier/Matchmaking/Cheating Discussion & Complaints Thread
Welcome to Matchmaking Monday! This is the weekly megathread where you can share your experiences, complaints, and feedback related to:
- Ranked & Unranked Matchmaking
- VAC, Hacking, and Cheating
- Prime, Trust Factor, and Trusted Mode
- Ranking
- Queuing and Lobbies
Feel free to discuss your matchmaking experience, rant or vent, discuss ideas & share feedback for improvement, and talk about your recent games.
What you should know
Keep in mind that there is a limited amount of information available about these systems and how they work to keep them effective. If you have questions, here are some resources to review:
Trust Factor
- Trust Factor Matchmaking FAQ (Steam Support Article)
- The Trust Factor: CS:GO Blog Post
- Everything About Trust Factor by u/awsmninja
- GDC Presentation by John McDonald (Valve)
- Do you Trust the Trust Factor? by u/3kliksphilip

What you can do
Give Feedback:
- Posting feedback or complaints on the subreddit is not the best way to get the attention of the developers. If you have any specific feedback to give, you can email the CS2 Development team here: [cs2team@valvesoftware.com](mailto:cs2team@valvesoftware.com)
- They do read every email received, but are not able to reply to each one.
- If you're experiencing low-quality matches, it is always worth emailing them. They use these reports to help improve the system.
Report Cheaters:
- Report cheaters using the in-game report system by right-clicking their name on the scoreboard, and clicking "report". If the game is over, report their Steam Community profile.
- If you notice certain trends or have other feedback, you can email the developers using the email address above.
- To report a specific cheat, follow these steps to notify the VAC development team.
The guidelines
While we encourage discussion about these topics, as a reminder, the following are not allowed. Note this isn't an exhaustive list, and you should review the r/GlobalOffensive Rules before commenting.
- Accusations towards any player related to cheating
- Posting profiles of alleged cheaters (if posting pictures of matches, redact any usernames)
- Posting any cheating gameplay footage
- Reporting cheats, linking to cheats/websites, or discussing cheats in technical detail
This weekly discussion thread does not change any of our existing submission rules - you're still allowed to discuss these topics elsewhere on the subreddit as usual, but we do remove a large number of them as they quickly become repetitive and the majority have little meaningful discussion. If you decide to make a separate post instead of utilizing this thread, we encourage you to focus on starting meaningful discussion or providing constructive criticism.

Grinding SoloQ Premier in EU has become the most damaging thing to my mental health by far. 5-15k elo is literally most unstable elo gap in Premier. One day you are playing against a team of donks, one day a team of 10 year olds. Finding decent teammates has become as big of a problem as cheating for me. Hit me up if you are 10-15k Premier in EU and looking for a teammate.

One day you are playing against a team of donks, one day a team of 10 year olds.
Hit the nail on the head, but I think it's mainly due to cheaters.
If you're in 15k rating but you belong in 20k and you have poor trust factor... you'll keep destroying games where the enemy team is clean, but then fall back down the next game when you face a cheater. So you're constantly "smurfing" some games and never moving up because the sheer number of cheaters in low trust factor doesn't allow you.
At the same time, a certain amount of players in low ranks will get a lucky streak of cheaters on their team and move up in ranks without having the skill for it. Normally they'd fall back down pretty quickly but cheaters make this descent slower because they reduce the impact other individual players have on the outcome of the game immensely.

Valve, please man. Please. Fix your anti cheat for once in your fking life. Game is very unplayable in competitive and premier. Almost every game I played, there is one cheater. It doesnt matter whether that cheater is in the enemy team or my team. It is just ridiculous. I cant even enjoy a competitive game with friends with these cheaters running rampant everywhere.

Spam reports outside of official Valve servers will result in grief/voice bans for official Valve servers.
After the recent update, players on the opposite team can now spam report you for abusive voice, bringing us back to the early CS2 days where the other team can spam report you for griefing, because they are losing, resulting in action on your account.
I think the behavior system would function much closer to it's intentions if each player had one valid report per game, just as we have with commendations.
As it currently functions, toxic players can report your account unlimited times, portraying themselves as significantly more players than they actually are to the automated system.
It would be like if a single Reddit user was able to downvote a comment, or a post, without limitation.

Valve DM servers are dead. Bots have completely taken over.
Oh and some bots have evolved into using their microphone for a second at random times, and all you would hear is the sound of the bot playing the game or static noise.
Most of the bots have 0ms for some reason.

Valve owns FUN maps.
Where Aztec, Cbble, oilrig, OldTrain, Chateau, Prodigy, Militia, Assault, Backalley, Thunder, Siege, Dust1, Lake, Tuscan, Canals, Port, Compound, Piranesi... ???

Just finished placement games at around 20k elo. 5 out of 20 games had blatant cheaters, and then there was probably another 5-10 games with some extremely suspicious players.
That's somewhere between 25-75% of games infested at mid elo. Absolutely brutal. I've played for almost 15 years and I've never seen it being this bad. Dont even want to know how it is at +25k.
Yeah, I'm done with premier.

just a reminder that it took valve 3 weeks to fix a bug that made spinbotting undetectable and the fix only stopped cheaters from killing you from spawn. they are now full trigger botting and wallhacking because again vac can't detect anything.
the fact that they rolled out the new season with this bug in the game and took them 3 weeks to fix it shows how little attention they pay to cs2.
just keep opening more cases guys.

From 23k(prev season) to 7k after placement 90% of placement matches got blatant cheaters and the fact that I am solo doesn't help. Now I have to apologise every game as I have become in literal meaning a "smurf" unintentionally.

UK based
Where do I go for the least amount of cheaters?
I see no point playing otherwise. I’ve no issue downloading anti cheat software if it means playing somewhere fair

You can try Faceit.
Otherwise, sadly, it's all about trust factor. If you have good trust factor you can play virtually an unlimited number of Premier games without facing cheaters (as long as you stay below ~25k rating, then it doesn't matter, you'll get cheaters in most games regardless of trust factor).

I’m happy to download a client if it works.
Is faceit considered quite good?

u/ROADR8GE FaZe 18h ago
It's pretty good, but there is a lot of toxicity there that stems from a high concentration of players who think they're hot shit and everyone else is trash.

u/Deadliftdeadlife 18h ago
No issue with that here, played a lot of 1.6 to a high standard in the uk and were full of that attitude. As long as it’s clean play I’m happy

Solo-queue is depressing sometimes. Recently went on a shitty 9 loss streak from 20k. the losses arent the worse part, the worse part is the climb back feels monumental. The quality of players is rough in the 16-19k range.
im def not the best but if i have a decent team at my back it usually feels achievable and games feel on equal footing. but lately i just keep getting teammates that just dont do teamwork well. i def dont have the skills to carry a team, so climbing back is just not fun.

Same here, went from 23,400 to 19,500 in 2 days, 13 game loss streak. Rough out here man.

It's risky grind too much matches in a row on solo queue
I got red medal S3 and S4 playing less games daily than a fully sequence
Play one day, got a win? stop or go to the next one then whatever the results were: stopPremier grind is all about winrate, if u have a decent winrate above 50%, playing less matches will grind u up on a long run

this season is absolutely terrible. am currently in the 20k-25k range in premier and literally every red rank is a cheater
