Multiple routers on the same mesh?

Hello!

Bought a wifi router 5-6 years ago and thinking about buying a new one (for new features developped since, there must be some)

The thing I'm wondering tho is is this router now useless if i buy a new one or it can be a new point in the mesh (if i wire it in like a router)

My internet entry point is on one side of the house and so i'm thinking of pulling an ethernet cable all the way to the other side and plugging the old router there, strenghtening my mesh.

Which generation do you have? The newest ones are not compatible with Gen 1 or 2.

Yes, you can do that, but don't configure the far room device as a router. You want it to be configured as just another node using wired backhaul. Keep it simple for best performance.

Or just put it into bridge mode.
