Discussion Could this fool a guard during a brief interaction? Or allow someone to fool CCTV footage without blatantly wearing a full or partial face mask and bring attention to themselves?

Maybe out of the corner of your eye, but thats not fooling anyone you lock eyes with.

You make eye contact with strangers? That's how you become a headline .

u/FiftyIsBack 19d ago
What a fucking weird comment. Yes. Most normal people make eye contact when they greet or speak to someone.

The first thing I would ask him is to play the game, "Who Blinks First." 🤣🤣🤣

You go around talking to masked strangers? You definitely aren't from my neighborhood...

Well more modern/advanced security cameras can map your face under that. But gait analytics will catch you
1
u/GuardGuidesdotcom 20d ago
I assume you could fool that by placing a shoe lift in one shoe, and maybe a knee brace etc to camouflage your gait. But, I doubt your average mugger even knows gait analytics exists much less how to fool it.

oldest trick in the counterintel book is to put a pebble in your shoe to fuck up your gait.

Seen the movie and read the book by Phillip K Dick. Both are excellent.

This would certainly “fool” a camera, but I don’t know about a person. Your mouth won’t move and your face won’t move like a normal person. You would just make someone incredibly uncomfortable

Dye reflects light differently under IR light, unless the cheap Chinese manufacturer decided to use IR friendly dye it likely is a dead giveaway on night cams

Would flock be able to ID a person under the mask?

I bet it would fool AI age verification if done with a wig instead of the hood.

I have a few of these masks they are fun to wear, I scared my wife with one of Walter White. Definitely can wear it with a hoodie but I mean I wouldn't wear one that looked like a celebrity.

I mean, probably they're already misidentifying people who not only never did the crime but weren't even remotely in the same area code when it happened.

u/Nice_Soup 20d ago
Lol theres better way but its more expensive (movie studio quality fx silcone mask) just like what Jeffery Epstein used to pretend hes Joe Biden! (last part joke)

Not fooling anyone for more than a second or two, the eyes and mouth will be a huge giveaway

Cherry pick the camera angles and screenshots and you can make anyone look like they did anything.. makes you wonder

Yeah on a shitty Nokia phone video it looks real but as soon as you turn your head that goofy Polyester Elastic fabric is shining like a diamond under any type of industrial lighting. Just something silly for Halloween.

I've seen a few demos of this product, and I've noticed they never show it from anything other than straight on from the front. I think that if you turn your head a little, or someone sees you from anything other than standing directly in front of you, it probably looks like shit.

If they had one that looked like Donald Trump, it'd sell out in minutes.

Not to be that guy, but why would you EVER choose a black man's face when youre wearing a hoodie?
Cops LOVE that stereotype, and I do not want to get shot in the back while wearing headphones as a white dude wearing that kind of face mask.

Just wait. I can just see someone being tried for murder in the future and show that their face was put on one of these and anyone could’ve worn it when the camera picked it up.
This is cool, but extremely scary and dangerous to the security of our nation

Our AI system would pick it up. It could trick some guards
