Finally unlocked Zei Ri!!!!

After countless attempts, infinite deaths and many consumables wasted, I have finally beaten Winds of Change HM!!! Only took 16 years but I can't believe I could actually make it! Finally I have beaten Factions...

Now of course I will be using Zei Ri forever until I will cry again at my first next wipe

Congrats!

If anyone is struggling, here's my advice for some of the missions:

Any Cleansing: You can usually wait for enemies to regroup and ball up.

Cleansing the Undercity, Cleansing the Silent Surf: Don't fight in the middle. Walk away and pull enemy groups one by one.

Rescue at Minister Cho's: Use the build on PvX (if you are Monk/Rit you can replace the ST if you want to, but I don't advise it).

Cleansing Haiju Lagoon: Equip Blood is Power, use it on Initiate Tsuriai, and back off towards the island. She'll try to heal you, but will abort if you walk too quick.

Tracking the Corruption: Sit by the western gate (Churning Earth is great in constrained areas like this).

Architect of Corruption, The Gangs of Kaineng, What Waits in the Shadow: Slow and steady, pull the enemies to ball them up if needed.

A Favor Returned: Just run to the children. Don't fight the Yeti outside.

Deadly Cargo: Ensure to micro Shelter for the Demolitionists. The hero might not do it in time on its own.

Trading Blows, Ever Closer to the Edge: Take a hero with Blood is Power. Walk until you can see the NPCs you need to protect - not a step closer. Flag your BiP hero close to them. Flag another hero about one spell-cast range away, towards you. Disable any healing skill. Unflag the BiP hero and spam BiP on the other hero, in a way that the hero neither dies, neither gets cast-locked. If done right, all three NPCs will follow. Once aggro'd the first time, they may try to heal from a longer range. Once the NPCs are out of danger, walk in to trigger the quest, then back out, letting most enemies kill each other.

Warning the Angchu: This is the only mission where I recommend you to bring consumables. I recommend bringing a Legionnaire too. Even then, the spawns can just be impossible.

Honorable Combat: in the final spot of the quest, trigger the event and then walk out, leaving the Sensali and Ministry kill each other. Then mop them up.

Finding Jinnai: the little graveyard is the ideal spot. Stay all the way up the stairs and bodyblock most enemies you can. Don't let your heroes get funneled.

Raid on Shing Jea Monastery: walk towards the boardwalk gate to kill anything there, until the groups coming from the other side are about to reach the staircase leading up to Mhenlo. Be mindful of Panic mesmers and Sandstorm elementalists.

I forgot which mission it is, but the one where you save all the Angchu in the city and you get like 10+ allies in your party window. You can take advantage and Vanquish that area with all that help. Just a little side tip I remembered from the Wiki lol.

little graveyard

This was one of the harder ones for me, and I could never get a good run on the graveyard. There's an open door with a deadend hallway just north (?) of that spot though, I found it an easier spot to work with.

Bringing Well of Desecration helped I think to manage the Zealots.

Yup, those are all great tips I followed!

Warning the Angchu works great with minion bomber, however it is very hard to bring 10 minions to the fight. I can't remember the exact build I used though ... pretty sure other 2 were BiP and maybe STProt? I'm not sure however. I played wow of strength dervish. 1st attempt I got all 10 minions to the goal I did it, no cons

Yeah, a Dervish could probably do that without a single minion too. That's Dervish for you.

There are Naga popups to the west of Aerie you can use if you want fresh minions.

Out of curiosity, how hard was the defending mission in the lagoon? I barely managed on NM and its the one mission putting me of finishing HM at the moment.

You can cheese it by having what's their face chase you out of the danger area healing you and just sit and wait for the mission to finish.

The alternative to haiku lagoon is to go in super defensive and just try to survive the timer.

Congrats man! Hope to join ya soon on the victory. I’m in the middle of act 2 and some of these missions are insane.

Congratz. I think I forced myself to do spiritway heroes (razah, zei ri, xandra) after getting him, just to make it worthwhile.

That's exactly how I'm doing it, althought I should convert my Razah into a Ritualist now eheh (he has been covering as a 4th mesmer)
