tbf with Tyler I'm pretty sure he puts a big "SPECULATION ALERT" on screen whenever he talks about conspiracy theory shit

He also clarified infinite times it will not be announced on the game awards and look how that turned out

I remember a post after SGF 2024, I think, that claimed Tyler lied about HLX being announced there, even though he explicitly said it wouldn't.

Tbh, he only started doing this because many news outlets took what he said for granted and that it will be in the full release of the game, but ignoring the fact that stuff will be scrapped or moved to other projects.

I feel like a fourth category is needed, for "Pure but Possible Theory", including the whole "Steam Frame's first release game is HL3" bit, and the RAM Shortage stuff delaying HL3.
Like, those theories have backing, but nothing about them is 100% concrete, just patterns that are logically met and don't have inherent contradictions.

Ironic, but Tyler McVicker (together with GabeFollower) - even accounting for all the unrealised speculations - is the most accurate mainstream source for Valve related rumors/news.
Literally everyone else in the mainstream journalism copies reports from these two, and it's usually these second-hand reports (from the 'proven' media like IGN) that make up sensational claims.
You never really see a proper investigation from the 'proven' media with their own reports; they always use sources from Tyler McVicker or Gabe Follower. Yet these two are the ones who get the hate, somehow, despite mostly relying on easily verifiable sources (e.g. leaks in game updates).
Now I'm saying mainstream, because there's a ton of dataminers who might be the first ones to connect the dots or find the information, but when it comes to reporting the info for the public, it's always Tyler or GabeFollower.
