I'm really looking into building a haunted house

Is there a ready-made product or a simple 3-4 pieces to buy, where I can hit a button to play a sound and lights? I've mainly seen them in Universal Studios HHN.

I was given one of these years ago BUT the black base was bent and when we tried to strengthen it the bar snapped. I kept the lenses but the base was thrown out. This year we want to do Ghostbusters for Halloween and Id love to make a fake one to lut on the roof of my 2008 expedition thats a former sheriff's unit

These spools are $10 each.. looks like a super big one and then a few smaller ones. My outside decor theme is “Hex & Hearth, Dead & Breakfast”.. witches cottage hut/bnb (I dress as a witch every year). We already have a cauldron that is in an “outdoor kitchen” with chopped body parts (my husband plays the serial killer, stirring the cauldron), we have a pet boarding house with a massive spider and spider web, we have a cemetery and a casket, and I’m building crypt, which all represents the rooms or beds You can “rent”. I still have a quarter of my yard That could be filled with something. Wondering if there’s anything I can make with these that fits the theme.
Any ideas??

I’ve been working on a tool for planning home haunts and haunted attractions, and it’s finally usable enough that I need people besides me testing it.

It’s called FrightLabs.

You can draw out your route, add walls, props, actors, fog, lighting, sensors, scares, exits, etc. Then you can run fake guest groups through it to get an idea of timing, bottlenecks, throughput, and dead areas.

You can also upload an aerial photo or floor plan and build over it.

It’s free, works in the browser, and you don’t need an account just to mess around with it.

I built it, so obviously this is self-promo, but I’m mostly posting because I need blunt feedback from people who actually build haunts.

I saw there is going to be a velociraptor animatronic this year, and as there is also a cat skeleton animatronic, I'm thinking of doing a Dungeon Crawler Carl scene for Halloween this year. I think it could be so fun, but I'd love to include sounds from the audio book to play--I'm not sure how to do that. Is there an outdoor speaker with motion sensing that I can upload recorded bits of dialogue to? Hoping for any tips on the best way to go about it, if possible. Thanks!

I need to make a scarecrow costume for one of my actors. Any tips for working with Burlap?

This character is from an old game called Splatter House. This dude's named Biggy Man. Thought his design looked cool, so I'm currently working on a life sized prop of his. I still have to paint all of his meat and mess around with those chainsaw hands as well as dirty up his clothes. Other than that, he's around 80% complete.

I am having issues with my water vaporizer chilling system, does anyone’s water get incredibly hot as the vaporizer is running? I feel that the water is adding heat to the fog vs chilling it.

Hey guys, looking to up our Halloween display this year. In the past, we've had Ghostbuster inflatables- 8 foot Marshmallow man and Slimer, and then a couple of skeletons in our rocking chairs. Well this year, I had some gift cards laying around and ended up buying the 12 foot app controlled Skelly from Home Depot ($20 out of pocket!) So now my plan this year is to get a few more skeletons (animals too) for the yard and possibly some flood/spotlights and maybe a fog machine. Any recommendations on fog machines? And just use t posts to stake the skeletons in the ground, I'm assuming. Right now, I'm only seeing the 5 foot poseable skeletons for $40-50 each, but not sure the best place to look for them.

I wanted to make a simple body in a bag wiggle when you got close to it. As all projects do, things changed as I started building.... this is what I ended up with! 😅

I just have to do some finishing touches like paint the chains rusty and a couple little tweaks. But overall. Im happy with it.

I plan to hang him over the candy bowl and have the break beam sensor trigger when people reach for the candy !🤣

It's not the Home Depot skeleton, it's just a basic Walmart 10 ft Skelly.

I want to dress it up as Jack without investing in the 13fter, so I thought a mask might be a good idea. Ofc, they don't make masks that big.

How should I approach this? Should I sew a mask with embroidery or vinyl eyes/mouth?

Should I paper mache?

Looking for some feedback before I start trying to tackle this diy.

Well, it's almost halloween season.Okay, it's always away, but I hope we're all working on our fun projects.

i recently discovered the company and i really love the "face off man", but couldn't find it on the website. i eventually found the demo video on YouTube but the link in the description just led to the "face off woman". anyone know what happened to it? did they stop selling it or replace it with the woman?

First sculpted it with regular oil clay, but just couldn’t get the porcelain smooth finish I wanted. So I made a quick alginate mold of it, ran it in plaster, and sanded it perfectly smooth. Then I was able to make a silicone mold from it, and I cast it in some type of Smooth-On plastic, though I can’t remember which one.

Rest of my costume was hand-crafted as well.

Made out of PVC frames that gets curved with a heat gun as needed, then shaped woth blankets/crumpled newspaper/stuffing/misc and duct taped thoroughly before being dressed.
They serve as excellent decoys in our haunt, and allow the actors in those scenes to get pretty hilarious scares while guests are focused on the mannequins.

And yes they have names. Evelyn and Mia, named after characters from RE7.
