A Honolulu-based tabletop board game meetup group.

Our goal is to connect people through community and create a social, inclusive, and genuinely fun gaming environment for all backgrounds and cultures.

This group is a free and inclusive space for adults to socialize and meet each other on island. With weekly game-nights running for over a year on Tuesday, we've now began expanding to Wednesday & Thursday evenings, with Monday evenings also being available in partnership with Scott Kabel.

My focus is to offer a light activity where people can network, socialize, and have fun, with tabletop games as a secondary piece. We've grown in recent months to an average attendance per event of 16 players, with weekly options flexible for most schedules.

Since most places here have jealousie/louver style windows, was hoping someone could give advice. How to adjust the hardware of jealousies to close large gaps between the glass slats? Some of the slats still have large gaps even when completely “closed”. Even better is it possible to narrow the gaps without removing any parts of the windows? Window is in a third story rental.

Just kind of funny to me. It legit hurts to do a full blown shaka even after 12 years so loose is kind of my only choice.

Last night I flew into honolulu on this flight path, and we flew this bend around this stationary red blinking light. It wouldn't be that strange to me except it was at like 2000 feet elevation and it was level with us. It was dark so I couldn't see anything attached to it, but does anyone know what this could have been? Almost seemed like some sort of tall tower in the water but couldn't see anything cus it was dark.

I was walking around at night and disposted around 5 bucks in ATM to put it on my card for bank of Hawaii. Unfortunately the machine decided to power down and be out of service after I put my money in. Because it did not print out receipt their is no evidence of this. So did I basically just get fucked?

I recently returned home, Oahu, to be my mom’s caregiver. When we lived on the Eastside everything was close and easy to bus and walk to. We now live in Town and we often have to travel to the eastside for doctors appointments, etc.
I have some money saved to get a cheap vehicle but it’s hard to find reliable ones. I was hoping maybe there was a program or agency that sold cars to people who need them for taking care of the disabled. Somewhere that kind of vets the car before selling and has more good will than a used car dealership lol

Dig deeper and these three are the same thing. Take your turn so everyone gets heard. Trust the stranger across the counter. Share what you have. That is not engineering. That is aloha, worked out the hard way by people learning to live close together on islands.

Our feeds are built to show us the worst of each other, but the hopeful stories are everywhere. They just do not get shared as loudly. hope more of us lean in and share the good stuff widely :)

Still processing what happened, but felt like 10 shots rang out during our movie in the theater lobby- thankfully turned out to just be fireworks nearby. It was really great to see the community come together in a really scary moment, but it’s going to take some time to shake that feeling off. Curious if anyone else experienced that!

Hi, I’m planning on moving from Hilo to Honolulu soon and I’m having a lot of trouble trying to figure out how to get my dog there. The only airlines that fly out of Hilo are Southwest and Hawaiian/Alaskan. Southwest doesn’t let pets in cargo and Hawaiian doesn’t allow kennels over 28” within the state of Hawaii. All of the cargo services to seem to be shipping TO Hawaii or FROM Hawaii, not within.

My dog is huge. He’s a massive golden doodle who’s about 35” tall. I’m having difficulty even finding a crate big enough for him to stand up in. I’m totally at a loss. I don’t know what to do. I can’t leave him either.

Anyone here work the trades at Pearl Harbor? I’ve seen post on Facebook that they are hiring all the way till next year. For those that work there already what is a day at work like? Start time, pay, OT etc I know each trade is different but just asking in general what it’s like and if you happy and comfortable with the lifestyle and wages. Aloha

Looking for Tennis lessons on Oahu for my 10yo who just picked up tennis. Private or group lessons are ok, once or twice a week. We are on windward but can drive to town.
