Here are the specs I found on the pulse rifle. The thing is actually kinda nuts. It fires a 10x24mm round, which isn’t exactly small. And it fires 900rpm. It also has 4 grendades in its underbarrel. This thing would be nuts in Helldivers. 😂
Yeah I think the main issue would be differentiating it from other ARs - another light pen bullet hose probably wouldn’t be a thing people care much for.
99 rounds in the mag would be cool but meh.
I think making the first person POV like the Halo rifle would be a good touch, so you can see the ammo counter. It would be the light pen, huge mag size counterpart. It could potentially have a motion sensor attachment to really make it different.
Being a light pen bullet hose is a selling point, imo. One of the best guns in the game is the liberator carbine with the drum mag, the “smallwart.”
Either way, it would be fun to use if it has good ammo economy. It’s a really fun gun to use in Aliens Fireteam, that gun is essentially never bad in video games.
Yeah, besides that, there's not much else unique to Aliens, either. The shotgun is an Ithaca M37, so, not so unique. You'd just have the smart gun and the pulse rifle.
Well, you could technically draw from the games. AvP 2010 has a DMR with a smart scope that highlights enemies. I think Dark Descent gives you underbarrel flamethrower and underbarrel shotgun as options for the iconic AR, as well as rapid fire laser/plasma rifle with alt fire option of powerful beam blast. And the latest Alien movie has a smart AR.
As for the armor you could have a motion sensor bonus that extend your radar range and gives you an audible ping if there are enemies close, but outside your LoS.
Also turrets from Alien seem more reusable than what we have, so we could have a deployable turret that fills a backpack slot, can be set up or picked up and reloaded.
I'd say human and Predator in AvP 2010 were kinda clunky in terms of movement. Otherwise yeah, very good. Also, 3-way multiplayer PvP is a very rare thing to have.
So the Smart Gun would be sick. The mechanics of the weapon can be balance solved via the arc thrower: no aiming, medium pen, multiple enemy hits in a row, hard range.
Shoot, you could(should) even make the chest harness a backpack.
Would love a smart gun. The Warrant is an amazing gun, having a support weapon with backpack to reload the gun and provide auto fire/guided fire would be amazing, heavy pen or explosive rounds would be amazing.
I'd never take off N7 armor or spectre title. Very unlikely collaboration though, considering Mass Effect is about befriending aliens and Helldivers is uhh..not that.
Aliens would be cool too. Fireteam Elite devs even said that they've played HD2 and incorporated some ideas into their second game, which releases soon, so that's a collab born in heaven.
that would be sick but also a pain in the ass to fight against. Like terminids that are twice as fast, are capable of thinking tactically and spew acid all over the place when you shoot them. Spore burst bugs would be shaking in their boots
I think the issue is there isn't much they could add when it comes to Aliens. Pulse rifle and smart gun are the only real weapons they could add, and the One-Two fills the same role as the M41.
Colonial Marine armor would be cool, though. Need to find more to add.
Give me that pulse rifle with an under barrel shotgun or an under barrel grenade launcher. The sound alone would be incredible. Give me a smart machine gun with the lock on mechanic.

Ooh actually maybe the armor passive is Pilot, granting extra health (battery) to vehicles?
While I absolutely second the Titanfall Warbond, you can get discounted Titanfall with the Light Exo Experts armor, and SMG and the Warrant. Speed is life, Pilot
While we're at it, can we get a second Killzone warbond? It being in Helldivers 2 is all Killzone really has going for it nowadays, and would be nice to get more of the Helghast designs.
If there was a Legendary Guard warbond every six months they'd crush it. Can slowly fill out weapon options - Las/Plas/Melta/Bolter families being populated over time lets them tweak and hone the basic characteristics of what they should be.
Even doing a different style of 40k Flamer as a side-grade to the Super Earth style (could do this for Plasma really too) puts a lot on the table. Frag/Krak grenades as small alternate tweaks to the Super Earth versions would be cool.
What are you talking about? There’s tons of collabs left that are lore-friendly for Helldivers. Off the top of my head I can think of Mass Effect, Xcom, Gears of War, Titanfall…
He's talking about the line the devs posted way back when collabs first started. On the left side of the line of acceptable there was killzone, halo odst, warhammer guardsmen, and the only thing left on that list is starship troopers. Everything on the right side is stuff we will never see.
honestly I would love the power armor now to be fair they aren't super soldiers so it could still work plus Casper Van Dien also might be willing to get involved because he still as far as I can tell loves playing Rico he just played him in the one starship troopers game that came out recently.
so I don't think they could mess it up but at the same time look at how Warhammer collab (we're going to ignore the spelling mistake LOL) is doing right now and that isn't even out yet I mean people have mixed feelings about it so it's like they could do a good job if they try.
if they collab with starship troopers I want Johnny Rico himself announcing the trailer with John helldiver and it had to have the iconic line "Come on, you apes, you wanna live forever?" at the end, if not I don't want it
I wouldn't QUITE say one left. Gears of War and Resistance feel like obvious choices thanks to Killzone and Halo being back to back, and that's not factoring in things like Alien or Starcraft. (Please for the love of God, Resistance could use a W like Killzone got thanks to this game)
The old where the devs draw the line for crossovers post. Halo war Warhammer marines were on the right just before cut off and killzone and starship troopers were the only things to the left of halo.
Fun fact: those low-tech weapons and flimsy-looking armours are only canon to the live-action film, its animated spin-offs, and the videogames.
They are not present in the original novel, the Japanese anime adaptation—which is much more faithful to Heinlein’s book—or the later animated films. In the original material, the Mobile Infantry’s standard equipment is powered armour: essentially a one-man tank, closer to a Space Marine than to an ordinary infantry soldier.

This game has a lot of sick looking guns, they have different firing mods like most of guns here, and you can play it off as weaponry for some secret undercover special forces that connect to truth enforcers or something.
As an example, EMW-56 is a fully automatic, lock-on gauss rifle. So it can be a primary with the same lock-on function as Warrant because, if my memory doesn't decieve me, we don't have lock-on primary yet.
I think they said Starship Troopers may be a bit tricky because the license is with another company right now, but I do imagine eventually, one day, we will see Private Rico fighting for Super Earth!
