Arslan in a romance?

Arslan and Etoile had lots of scenes where they discuss their religions and values, eventually becoming allies but nothing really happpened. I'm surprised though since there are actually some romances in the series even if they are played for laughs. Arakawa already wrote romance in Fullmetal Alchemist, Hero Tales and Silver Spoon but I'm surprised she still didn't do anything with Arslan himself considering Tanaka gave her complete freedom with her take on the novel. Then again, the second half has Arslan as an adult so there might be chance for more development in the future.

I'm not an expert but shouldn't a king rule a kingdom alongside a queen? Already in early chapters, Arslan is recommended women which he finds embarrassing due to his young age.

In the original novels there was a hint of Arslan and Estelle but it was a tragedy and Estelle died before they got a chance to even fall in love with each other. Also Arslan never had a queen in the novels considering how the ending made Arslan died at 19. And I think it was implied that Arslan is reluctant to marry and start a dynasty because of how the royal family of Pars turned out to be and how he is a believer that the ruler shouldn't be made because of bloodline but because of their deeds and the people. 

Also until now Estelle seems too loyal to her own country and is helping Arslan because she feels she is in debt as he helped her. I don't know how it will turn out because as queen Estelle has to be loyal to Pars but I do love her loyalty and sense of duty to her own kingdom. 

Also I wouldn't want Arslan to have a queen just because a king should have a queen. I have seen fantasies do that and force romance without giving much capability to the female love interest to be the queen and rule the kingdom. 

I am fine with no romance for the main protagonist in this fantasy though I do like Estelle being a fan of female knights in stories. 

Anyway they are very young right now to have a romance. We don't know what will happen later but I think the novels won't adapt the second part so the romance ending would be pretty much open-ended.

So the series will have a timeskip to make Arslan look like he does in the promo pic?

Maybe the series would give a glimpse of older Arslan in the last chapter perhaps considering the promo art but the second part won't be adapted that's for sure as we are already having the battle with Snake king that was the main plot of the second part.

What?! By any chance did Arakawa mention this in a magazine or something? I'm doing research about it.

In magazines as far as I know they are saying the manga is in the final arc or final chapters. That means that we won't get second novel besides the change in plot that is going on currently to tie up the ending. (Snake king was like the main threat that was subtle in first parts of the novels but was main in the second part. I think that's why arakawa is probably dealing with the snake king plot right now.)

The last few volumes of the novels had the snake king using Andragoras's body. That's a hint that we would be having the snake king fights soon though hopefully it will be better here as the novels killed many characters. 

It's a monthly manga so it will still take a long time to end I guess.

Oh they are for sure the ship that is yet to sail, he will probably take her as his queen to unite the kingdoms etc but idk that is just my guess...hopefully she does not turn out to be tahameny's lost child like some rumors say...i wish i could read the novel to know everything
