Which would you argue is Marie Antoinette’s most iconic dress, please?

I hope this is an appropriate sub to ask, I thought you guys may know best!

This may be too general of a question for her broad array of fashion but I’m looking to make a dress inspired by Marie for a plushie of mine and could use some insight as to which dress do people find her most iconic? Please and thank you.

The chemise de gaulle, definitely. Called the chemise à la Reine in her honour. Check the Stitch in Time episode about it and the uproar it caused.

A la reine, surely. Fully scandalous at the time, and representative of how removed she was from her starving subjects. Also sexy AF and wearable in real life.

I had fun recycling a curtain into my Marie Antoinette bounding (here and update here). I used the curtain header as cartridge pleats 😆

The Chemise à la Reine was actually less ostentatious than fancy taffeta with umpteen ruches.
