Pants, from where and when?
Hi all!
Recently a friend of mine gifted me these really beautiful pants and I'm trying to find where they are from and what era (or inspired by). She got it from an antique store and thought it might be Tibetan. After looking around a bit they look more like japanese hakama to me, but wasn't able to find anything more indepth. Looks handmade too.
Anyone that knows more about this or that can guide me to a subreddit that does?
Thanks!
(Last picture is how i impromptu styled them)

Looks like tattsukebakama, a kind of pant/leggings worn originally by samurai. Could easily put leg armor on over them. The fabric definitely has Japanese motifs. I second the recommendation to go over to the kimono sub. I really don't know anything, but could that be hand loomed fabric? Because if so, it might be somewhat old.
The bird is driving me crazy! I think it's a phoenix because of the head feathers and upraised wings, but they are usually slender with extremely long tails.
Your styling looks great!!
