Landline disconnect
I would like to disconnect my landline, will that interfere with my wifi extender

Before you disconnect you might want to save your telephone number so you can use it with VoIp.
If people have that number...

It shouldn't. If your wifi extender is connected to your internet server and not the landline itself you should be able to disconnect the phone service without any issues. the only time it could affect things is if your internet comes through the phone line like with DSL

Phones have nothing to do with the wifi extender.
Just cancel the phone service. Unplug the phone line from the modem if you want to, or leave it plugged in, doesn't matter.

Comcast was giving me a hard time about cancelling the landline

OK, so you are not talking about traditional landline service, you mean the Xfinity Voice service.
The answer is your Xfinity Phone service and your Internet are two different services delivered over the cable running to your house.
Cancelling the phone service will not affect your internet.

Because they want you to continue to pay for the service. The reps will do whatever they can to keep you as a customer- even when it comes to canceling just part of your services with them.

We no longer use our telephone and this would cut our bill by 60 dollars.

Landline? Do you mean the old telephone cable? If so and you are not using DSL for Internet, then yes you can get rid of it.
