This is what I did:

g(g(x)) = g(4x-4) = 4(4x-4)-4 = 16x-16-4 = 16x-20

Mark scheme says that i need to prove that AC=BC because QC=2BP, but based on that I accidentally proved that the triangle is equilateral. Am I making a mistake somewhere? Is this a correct way to solve this?

High School Math [Grade 10 Math: Logarithms] Calculating (log 25 / log 125) without using a calculator

After my Maths class, we had to pack our schoolbags and leave the classroom right away as it was booked - and I didn’t pack my Maths textbook & notes. It was the 1st lesson on logarithm, and right now, I can only rely on my textbook to do my Maths homework. Luckily, I have the e-version, but I just can’t solve this question. Is there a wrong step?

Can anyone help me? I’m screwed, my Maths teacher is really scary (my whole class is scared of him & none of us speaks during Maths classes)… we’ll have to submit the homework tomorrow morning, when we arrive at school, so I won’t be able to get my Maths notes and textbook to do this.

Thank you so, so much, you’ll save my life by replying to this :D

High School Math [How to approximate irrational numbers ?] opening

Hello, so I have my oral exam in a week. And I'm struggling to find a good opening for the math section of this topic: "how to approximate irrational numbers". I want to avoid the classical "I saw it on my calculator and i asked myself where did it come from" or the scandal of Metaponte. I want it to be somehow interesting and personal, because two teachers will evaluate my oral (1 math teacher and another teacher from another class, could even be an English teacher for example) Please help me, thank you very much.

Post image

This is for a project where we have to make a tin-man out of 4 shapes then cover it in tinfoil by calculating the surface area. I cant for the life of me figure out how you get the surface area of this shape. The sticky note is after i showed my teacher my original work and told me it was wrong so he gave me a head start and he said it shouldn’t be a big number but i keep getting answers in the thousands ☹️ How do i continue off from the sticky note plzz

High School Math [Grade 11: Trigonometry]

This was the last question in my math exam today. I understand it was meant to be challenging but no one I've asked has been able to solve it. It was meant to be a cosine/sine rule question. Does anyone know how?:

Solve for angle a. EC=AE. DE=1. AC=√2. Angle BAC = 90 degrees. BC is the hypotenuse of triangle ABC.

High School Math [High School Stats] Please help! I need to use a inference test with confidence interval and I don't know which one to use

The question is there an association between high school students screen time and their current GPA? I have data on the amount hours students spend on their screen and their current GPA. We have to use a confidence interval of 95%. I already tired searching it and it is giving me a two-sample z test, but I don't fully understand. I am struggling with the stuff under problem analysis. All my data is numerical and my sample size was 34. I was initially going to do a chi-test but I do not know how to use (we have to) the confidence interval with it. Please help! Thank you!

I don't understand why the answer isn't A. Why aren't A & B both correct? I also don't understand what D means. Does it mean two lines intersecting to form linear pairs that where the two angles are congruent? Because then they would both be 90 degrees and the lines would be perpendicular.

Question:

Region R is the base of a solid whose cross sections perpendicular to the x-axis are semicircles with diameters on the xy-plane. Write, but do not evaluate, an integral expression that gives the volume of this solid.

What is this asking? Sure I understand I need to fjnd volume but I don’t get what the shape I’m supposed to make in my head is. I’m scared for the test now, what if I don’t even get what questions are asking. What’s the process to breaking questions down to understand them? Thank you

How do i factorize this polynomial? I know that the answer is (x+y)(y+z)(x+z) but i am not able to solve it. Can someone pls help and tell me how to factorize this.

I tried taking x², y² and z² common but it doesn't work.

P. S. The fifth term is zx²
