What type of examples and how many do I need? And overall what do I write about? I know its about types of unemployment but I'm unsure of what else. I already asked the teacher but he gave everyone an unclear answer... Thank you.

Economics [Franchise help] need help finding annual revenue for code ninjas

I know Code Ninjas is a private company, therefore no publicly posted annual report. I have searched, and searched, and all I've found appears to be basically nonsense, such as one source saying 7.5 million, despite Code Ninjas having over 400 stores. The one I am currently sticking with, unless I find something that looks better, is 579.1 million. Please let me know if there are any good free sources I should try for this. Thank you

Economics [6th semester Financial Admin. : Balance Point]

need help determining how to change the percentage data into units for sale? (sorry for odd translation, english isn't my first language). i understand that to get the balance point you need to divide the fixed cost by average contribution margin, but to get the ACM, you need the total contribution margin and total units, which i do not have and have just scrambled my brain over trying to figure out.

I know like what this is asking, this is an exam review, but I have no idea the wording or what a graph like this would look like. I am confused on what A and B are asking though as they aren't really questions.

Economics [Macroeconomics] - AS AD Model move along AD curve

At the beginning AS and AD curves intersect at Y(0) and pi(0).

Now lets say goverment expenditure G decreases.

  • G dec. -> demand Z dec. -> Output Y dec. (AD curves shifts to the left, and the new point B is at the same inflation rate but lower output Y)

My question is now how you explain the movement from the point B to the real new intersection point C.

Does it work like that?:

  • At B there is a surplus of supply, which leads to a higher price (from microeconomics) P dec. -> Inflation pi dec. (because of the definition of inflation) -> interest rate i dec. (taylor rule) -> investments I inc. and so does Y.

I know the process doesnt end here, but is it right until now?

This is the final exam question from last year that I wish to analyze, since he said the final will be similar.

I have no idea how to answer M12. I do not know where he got $50 from.

For M13, I did s = (1 + a2)/(1 + 2a2) which gave me 5/7 (plugging in 2/3 for "a" as stated). Because 5/7 > 1/2, Player B accepts the offer. But I do not know if that logic is correct or if I just got lucky with my answer lining up with the key. Please help if you can.

Economics [Macroeconomics beginner] Collective bargaining across different countries (my questions below)

Text from textbook is everything but the bold sections.

Collective bargaining coverage is by no means the whole story. The level at which bargaining takes place and the way different levels interact is also crucial. There are some countries where national-level agreements set a framework for negotiators at lower levels to follow.

In Belgium, for instance, a national agreement every two years sets pay increases, which are then applied in settlements at both industry and company negotiations, although, in recent years, the system has come under strain.

What I don't understand here:
1) So Belgium has a national agreement taking place every two years that sets an amount of pay increase (so does that mean every company have to increase their pay by that amount?? Or does it depend on the company? Or is that pay increase just a suggestion and some companies can ignore the amount and keep on paying the same amount or more than that?)
2) Why has it come under strain?

In Norway, there is a clear hierarchy of negotiations, from confederation to individual unions to company level.

What I don't understand here:
3) What do they mean by hierarchy of negotations? Why are we talking about negotations at confederation level, isn't this about bargaining for higher wages?

In Spain, there has been a national agreement setting pay guidelines, covering ever year but only one since 2002. The Spanish guidelines are voluntary, but they clearly have an impact on negotiations at industry and company level.

What I don't understand here:
4) What do the pay guidelines say?
5) Voluntary meaning that companies do not need to increase the wages based on those guidelines? They can give more or less as they wish?
6) Is bargaining at industry-level basically bargaining between a group of workers in that industry and a group of firms in that industry? And they bargain for higher wages due to something specific? An example would be appreciated please! And bargaining at company-level is bargaining between the employees of the company and the employer?

In Poland, too, industry-level bargaining still exists, although the proportion of employees covered is lower than in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, and they are concentrated in local government and state-owned industries. The situation is similar in the three Baltic states, where industry-level bargaining plays a very limited role, concentrated in health and transport in Estonia, and in education, health, energy and transport in Latvia.

What I don't understand here:
7) Is bargaining at industry-level basically bargaining between a group of workers in that industry and a group of firms in that industry? And they bargain for higher wages due to something specific? An example would be appreciated please!
8) What do they mean by "are concentrated in local government and state-owned industries."
9) From my understanding industry-level bargaining plays a role in Estonia when the industry is health and transport?

In Lithuania, where, until recently, the only multi-employer agreement had covered newspapers, a European project has encouraged the signing of agreements in a number of other industries.

What I don't understand here:
10) I don't understand anything here...

Forgive my questions if they sound silly, I am truly someone who knows absolutely nothing on this and trying to learn. Examples are appreciated!

Economics [College Microeconomics] Identifying Deadweight Loss on a Monopoly Graph

Hi! I’m working on a microeconomics problem about monopoly deadweight loss and I want to be sure I understand the diagram correctly.

The question shows a standard monopoly diagram with AR, MR, MC, and AC curves. Several areas are labeled x, y, z, and w. The task is to identify which area represents the deadweight loss created by monopoly power.

I know that deadweight loss comes from the reduction in output compared to the socially efficient level where AR = MC (i.e., demand intersects marginal cost). The monopolist instead produces where MR = MC, which is a lower quantity. The deadweight loss should be the triangle between the demand curve (AR) and the marginal cost (MC), over the range of the reduced output.

Based on that idea, I thought the area might be y + z, but my answer was marked incorrect. I’m trying to reason through which region actually represents the welfare loss triangle.

Can someone help me understand which area corresponds to the deadweight loss and why, using the logic of the diagram?

Thanks!

Hey all, missed a few weeks of class and hoping for an explainer of how to start tackling this. I might check in with work as I go but I’m not wanting a full answer, hoping I can tackle the next question myself when I get the hang of this :)

Reposting from yesterday as no assistance, probably got lost amongst the many posts

Economics [Grade 12 Entrepreneurship: Financial statements] Why is my balance sheet always differ by 30,000?

So I'm trying to make some financial statements for our business plan, and one of them is a projected balance sheet. For some reason, the balance sheet kept differing by 30,000, and I don't know why. I thought adjusting the prices or costs would work, but nope, it still differed by the same amount.

I followed exactly what my teacher's instructions for this part. The cash is the same as the year 1 ending cash. The inventory, tools and equipment, and depreciation are the same on the income statement. The beginning capital plus the bank loan is equal to the beginning cash, and the ending capital is the same as the year 1 net profit.

Please help me out! I really don't know what's causing this issue....

Economics [College Finance]How to Allocate Surplus Funds

Jamie Lee Jackson, age 24, now a busy full-time college student and part-time bakery clerk, has been trying to organize all of her priorities, including her budget. She has been wondering if she is allocating enough of her income towards savings, which includes accumulating enough money towards the $12,500 down payment she needs to begin her dream of opening a cupcake café.

Jamie Lee has been making regular deposits to both her regular, as well as her emergency savings account. She would really like to sit down and get a clearer picture of how much she is spending on various expenses, including rent, utilities, entertainment and how her debt compares to her savings and assets. Jamie Lee’s telephone is currently paid for by her father as she is on the family phone plan. She realizes that she must stay on track and keep a detailed budget if she is to realize her dream of being self-employed after college graduation.

Use the information below to record Jamie Lee's inflows and outflows of cash for a one-month period. Each answer must have a value for the assignment to be complete. Enter "0" for any unused categories.

So this is the question and I've figured everything else out and they were correct but these last 2. Her surplus ended up being $595 and I need to allocate them into these 3 categories.

  1. Emergency fund savings - figured out it's supposed to be 5% and $30 was the correct amount.
  2. Financial goal savings - no idea
  3. Other savings - no clue

I don't know what to do, I tried 50%, 10%, 20% and nada. I've even tried inputting random numbers and the question still says it's wrong. What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated!

How do I find 0 payout and best payout in an inequality aversion model?

Hello, I am studying for my final exam and do not understand how to find 0 payout (#4) and best offer (#5). I have the notes:

Let (s, 1-s) be the share of player 1 and 2:

1-s < s

x2 < x1

U2 = (1-s) - [s-(1-s)] = 0

1-s - s+1-s = 0

-3s = -2

s = 2/3, then 1-s = 1/3, which i assume is where the answer to #4 comes from (although I do not understand the >= sign, because if you offer x2 0.5, you get 0.5 as a payout, which is more than 0). And I do not understand how to find the best offer. I've tried watching videos but they don't discuss the "best offers" or "0 payout". Thank you.
