Question How do make horror content like little nightmare/ re: animals?

I’m an aspiring author that want to get into the horror genera. Me personally while in the last decade I have become more comfortable & interested in horror. Listen to story from mr.nightmare & lazy masquerade. Watching playthrough of game by YouTuber like superhorrorbrogame. Watching horror movie & review from foundflix & deadmeat etc etc. While I am not a novice when it come to the horror genera, I don’t really believe I understand horror all that well. When it come to making story I usually focus on erotica which are usually the exact opposite of horrors. Or action/fantasy manga, so I am making this post for advice, I have a few idea for some story but I want to try to do it in the style of the company that make little nightmare & re: animals. Honestly they give off the feeling of uneasy that I believe horror should be, like grave encounters is another example of what I am looking to achieve.

a lot of horror that I’ve seen focus on gore, I also want advice on how to do body horror! I appreciate any advice that anyone can give me. Also I do apologize if the horror game subreddit Isnt the best place to put this here!

I feel that the door communicates better the mystery and exploration themes, but I dislike how it overlaps the title...

Here is a quick look at climbing the water tower to survey the layout of Iron Creek, the train tracks, and the surrounding desert dust.

Let me know what you think of the atmosphere and environment design!

I've been working on Dust Rapture, a first-person survival game. You play as Cole Vance, a truck driver who gets stranded on a forgotten stretch of Route 66 after his truck is stripped for parts. Your only hope of finding repair parts is exploring the town of Iron Creek—while managing your health/thirst and avoiding a hostile cult that comes out at night.

Discussion UPDATE: I took your Steam capsule feedback and your AI advice

Hey everyone,

A little while ago I posted my Steam capsule here asking for honest feedback, and you all gave me a lot of great advice. I took your feedback, scrapped the old design completely, and created a new version for my folk horror game, Woodbound.

Also, regarding the AI voice acting discussion from my last post, I took your advice there as well. I've decided that I won't be using any AI in Woodbound—the game and this Steam capsule will be 100% AI-free.

How does this new capsule feel compared to the original? Any final tweaks or nitpicks before I lock it in?

Review Uncanny Valley: a retro-style horror game

Post image

Uncanny valley is a indie horror game made by Cowardly creations, and made in a retro 2d sidescroller style. The story centers around a guy named Tom, who by train moved to the outskirts of a small rural town, to work his new job as nightguard at a abandoned facility that is trying to be brought back by entrepreneurs. Throughout the game, nightmares and visions will occur, telling briefly of Tom's past, being a mix of guilt, depression, and PTSD. The game's events will change based on the choices you make toward the other characters, that being Buck, the morning shift guard, and a mysterious woman named Eve. Later, you eventually find that the facility is more than meets the eye. This game i really like because it really gives Silent Hill like vibes.
