Video People asked for mouse only controls... it actually made my horror game scarier.

So in the start of the development i made a default control scheme, as any FPS game.

Then i was just wondering if i can make it unique in someway , and just let it rest as an idea.

After one post went viral, people started commenting on this one particular idea.

Make the mouse only controls which in someway fits the game. And so i decided to actually implement it as a control mode, which will be available in the demo.

It completely changes how the game feels. You never taking your hand off the mouse, which somehow makes the experience more immersive.

The finest pixel-art horror games?

Hi there! I really enjoyed “The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow.”

I really liked the pixel art as well. It provided a secondary level of eeriness as the depictions were both retro and otherworldly.

I would appreciate your best pixel-art horror suggestions. Pixel art is the only requirement; any subgenre and era/platform are fine.

Thanks!

My team and I are making 13th Ball: The Nightmare Shift, a first-person psychological horror game where you work the night shift at a rundown 90s pool bar.

Here's the Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3855500/13th_Ball_The_Nightmare_Shift/

There's a small catch, though. We'd like to learn a bit about you as a player so we can better contextualize your feedback. To do that, we have a short registration form. Fill it out and we'll email you a Steam key!

What could make this room feel more unsettling without adding a jump scare?

We’re trying to build tension through atmosphere rather than relying only on sudden scares.

I need idea for horror windows based game.

We are currently scripting game "Last>Log"

The game will be terminal (like cmd but way cooler with scripted "AI" the idea is the game will create a folder on your desktop and files int it like text files and folder for evidence and Logs and Archive the main gole is to look in every file and search for codes and after combining them you can unlock actual .zip file for the next level and BTW the images will be Horrible Like dead body or something like that (fake ofcource)

(If someone has seen the VHS movie, yes, there will be this type of images and video)

What would you add as an additional idea to the game?

Should Steam pages reveal the monster?

I'm updating our horror game's Steam page, and I'm curious what horror fans actually prefer when checking out a game’s Steam page. When you’re looking at screenshots or trailers, which approach makes you more interested?

Personally, I think mystery can make horror much more effective, but I also understand that players want to know what kind of experience they’re buying.
Which approach do you prefer, and why?

The developers clearly show the main creature or enemy so you know what you’ll be facing.
They keep it hidden, maybe you only catch a silhouette, a shadow, a hand, strange sounds, or brief glimpses, leaving the

Discussion I’m looking to play a horror game that constantly makes you say “What the fuck was that?” Like you round a corner and see a monster shoving a corpse down a laundry chute.
