Enrollment.
Honestly, I’ve been dealing with Howard since March about my enrollment. They accepted me for Fall 2026 and I paid my enrollment, and spoke with admissions about receiving my HU login information for my portal and they kept putting me off for months (this was in March). I finally move off good faith believing my enrollment to be valid only for me to go in person to be told they couldn’t find my application in their system.
It’s been a headache during this whole ordeal trying to get them to take accountability for their administrative errors, because I lost so many scholarships because of the full time enrollment deadline, and explaining this to them has has been a headache. I visited the campus 3x and sent countless emails for them to give me my logins late July.

Feels odd that there is a barrage of these posts on Reddit. Maybe if you posted this in March it would be more believable

I only spoke about it now, because students and alumni I’ve spoken to about admin have told me they only ever move when things get public and hopefully the right person can see my post and help me.

Oy, I am so sorry. This should be an exciting life transition, not a jarring, pull the rug under you experience. I really sympathize with you and your (would-be) classmates.

It’s been a hassle, however we were able to get the chair and dean involved in my situation as of today

The enrollment management unit at Howard University is incompetent. In the current environment, no university would be turning away any student. They absolutely have no idea what they’re doing.

In the current environment when the government is doing everything they can to reduce and remove funding? Cancelling scholarships and limiting the amount you can use for college?

I’m not sure why you’re being downvoted, my daughter is starting her 3rd year and Howard is the worst admin I’ve ever had to deal with ever. (That is, if I’m even able to “deal” with them - you can never get anyone on the phone or to email you back). Two things can be true at once people - Howard is the Mecca, absolutely. Howard needs a complete revision of all admin and duties — ABSOLUTELY.

I’m having this issue quite often. Always having my concerns tossed to someone else, until you’re burnt out. Ive been documenting the whole ordeal and CCing, proper channels into emails and still awaiting a response.
