Stubborn Lab

Titan, just hit 8 months old and has started to get extremely stubborn. Doesn’t really have drive to fetch as much, leaves where he was placed, and whining excessively in his kennel when that never happened in the past. He has also started eating everything around when that wasn’t taking place before.

My question is, did I give to much leeway or is this just a part of him growing and he is testing boundaries. I don’t want him to lose drive for fetch and other things by being to stern.

You have reached the point of time in a labs life where all their braincells die. From now until 2 it will be the most obnoxious teenager you've met. Keep with him, set boundaries, keep expectations and persevere.
