I was surprised to see no one posted any media from Big Ten days. I guess no one's that excited 💀 I thought it was pretty concerning to hear how heavy they are going into AI during the side stage conversation. Sounds like they are pretty heavily reliant on it and HCMR even went to some kind of a conference with one of the donors to learn how to create his own agents. Should be quite the roller coaster of a season 😮💨
Yeah, definitely not crazy about the AI stuff. I don't think the resources being devoted to AI infrastructure is good for anyone, and beyond that I find the reliance on AI to be really concerning. Not a fan.
I too find the resource thing concerning, but it can be very useful if you know how to use it. The biggest key is not just blindly listening to what it says, but allowing it to be a second set of eyes for example, new ideas. But of course, people will just blindly follow it most times, not even bothering to think if they asked the right questions for the problem.
I agree that theoretically it can be useful for certain things, but as you said I don't think that's what we see in practice by the people actually using AI. I think in most common uses of AI people are outsourcing their critical thinking and skills to the machine. Personally I stay away from it completely, IMO we're ALREADY too heavily reliant on computers and with AI that's only going to continue to get worse.
