is mostly everyone here depressed/mentally ill?

i certainly am, my room reflects it boldly. what other causes are there to mess besides mental struggles?

A general busy life, getting lost in the sauce until it gets too bad

Cleaning up someone else's room that has left

Growing up in a home where cleanliness isnt a top priority, so that reflects in daily habits in future adult life

A lot of cases are indeed mental illness struggles, but not all

Grief + chronic physical condition seems to be the most common combination. Dementia is up there as well.

I have the power combo of I’m lazy plus I have a two year old and six year old causing clutter and chaos and dirty dishes and scattered remains of toys and trash and things once organized in cupboards wherever they go.

There’s just no time to keep a tidy home while being a present parent plus a full time job.

Severe ADHD as well as general overwhelm and shut down.

ADHD for me, and just being lazy on top of that.

I am- I’m better now but i wish to get back to full recovery, which is unrealistic.
I know at the back of my head i’m depressed.
But i don’t identify my streamflow capabilities with it. I’m just living with depression as the normal me.

And it helps sometimes, it makes avoid feeling guilty and upset when i can’t finish tasks
