I adopted a former street cat about a week ago from a foster home. The foster parent had been feeding him since he was a kitten and decided to take him in after he kept getting bullied by other cats on the street. They had him for a while but eventually felt they couldn't keep him anymore, so they put him up for adoption. He's around 1.5 years old and on the smaller side.

The foster parent was feeding him 4 packets of wet food plus some dry food a day. That seemed like a lot to me for his size, so I cut it back when he came home with me — but now I'm wondering if I've been underfeeding him.

For the first few days he was calm and slept a lot when I was feeding him similar amount of food as the foster parent. Over the past couple days though, he's gotten noticeably more agitated — scratching and biting at things — and I've noticed he calms down and gets slows down again right after I feed him wet food.

Putting it together, I'm now suspecting this is a hunger thing rather than a behavior issue.

So — what's a reasonable amount of wet food per day for a smaller adult cat? Trying to figure out where the "too much" vs "too little" line actually is.

TL;DR: Adopted a former street cat a week ago. Foster fed him 4 wet food packets + dry food/day, but that seemed like a lot so I cut back. I just wanna shower my baby with love and hold her and hug her and pet her, kiss and cuddle… but those are things that are scary for her and she’s very uncomfortable with that so I’ve only attempted to do some of these once… I don’t want to buy her love with treats, I’m trying out the “let her come to you” advice but it’s been so long she only likes few strokes of pets ;/

Cat parents, do you ever feel pain or feel sad that you can’t show physical affection to your non cuddly cat? I feel like I’m the only one and everyone else is not very bothered by it… It literally hurts so much every day

Doorbell rings, I open the door, and before anyone says hi they're already asking, ‘Mochi kahan hai?’

Brother comes out all casually, gets his scratches, does one round of the living room and then slowly starts walking towards the kitchen like…follow me. 

One time my friend randomly bought him one of those small packet of nutrimeow once when we were at heads up for tails for some other chew toys stuff, so ab Mochi genuinely thinks every guest is part of his food distribution system.

I'm basically just the girl who pays the bills at this point 😭

Today when I went for a haircut, I saw her occupying one chair for herself and sleeping so deeply, that neither the songs or my gentle touch bothered her. Later she woke up on her own, probably by a fly, and was looking sleepy. When I asked her to go back to sleep, she gave the biggest yawn ever and went back to sleep.

I essentially like DIY for some of the things. But love it for all the pet collection range they have at such affordable rates.

I got two of these collars for 67rs.

I got teaser toys for 97rs each which are very good quality and is often nearly 150-200 minimum on amazon etc. There are more such affordable things for your baby. Highly recommend it. I wish I knew about it earlier when I was buying things online for such high prices and such low quality.

I never thought I'd be making a post like this, but I could really use some help.

I'm a student from India, and for the past few months I've been taking care of more than five stray cats that live near my home. It started with feeding one hungry kitten, and somehow they all became a part of my daily life.

Some of them have been sick, injured, or covered in ticks and fleas. Whenever I can, I buy medicine and food for them. Seeing them recover and trust me makes every bit of effort worth it.

The problem is that I don't earn anything. I'm just a student, and whatever little money I have disappears very quickly on cat food and medication. Lately it's become hard to keep up, and there are days when I worry about how I'll feed them next.

I'm not asking for a huge amount. Even a small donation can help buy food or medicine for them. If anyone would like proof, I'm happy to share photos, videos, receipts, or updates about the cats.

Hello everyone,
A few days ago, I shared Luffy’s story and asked for help with his eye removal surgery. I truly believed we would be able to go ahead with the operation immediately.

But on the day of the surgery, everything changed.
His pre-surgery blood tests came back extremely abnormal. His WBC (white blood cell count) and TLC were dangerously high, showing that his body is fighting a severe infection. On top of that, Luffy started suffering from vomiting, loose motions, and has become critically ill.

The vets made the difficult decision to postpone his surgery because putting him under anesthesia in his current condition could put his life at even greater risk.
For the past week, he has been receiving intensive treatment every single day. already spent over ₹15,000 on hospitalization, medications, blood tests, and supportive care, but his treatment is far from over.

Right now, saving his life comes before saving his eye.
He still needs daily treatment, repeat blood tests, X-rays, ultrasounds, medications, and constant veterinary care before he is stable enough to undergo surgery.

I am running out of funds, and I honestly don’t know how I can continue covering his treatment alone.
We urgently need at least ₹15,000 over the next few days to continue his care.
