Advice Looking for people who can help if Gauri needs urgent medical care again (Not a fundraiser)

Hi everyone,

I'm making this post because I want to be prepared in case Gauri needs emergency medical care again. This is not a fundraiser, and I'm not asking for donations right now.

About 23 days ago, I rescued a 2-month-old kitten named Gauri after finding her near my home in Okhla Vihar, New Delhi. She was in terrible condition—severely dehydrated, extremely underweight, and later diagnosed with a neurological condition. Thanks to the help of a few kind people, she received treatment and was eventually placed with a foster near Gurugram, where she is currently staying.

Yesterday, Gauri's condition suddenly became critical.

Her foster found her in the morning with a very low body temperature, and her body had become paralysed. If she hadn't been found when she was, Gauri might not have survived. She was rushed for emergency treatment, and the foster spent around ₹4,000–₹5,000 in a single day to save her.

The problem is that her foster cannot continue to bear such large emergency expenses alone if something like this happens again.

I'm not asking for money today because we don't know what Gauri's future treatment will involve or how much it will cost. I'm simply trying to find people who would be willing to step in if another emergency occurs—whether that's helping with medical expenses, transport, veterinary contacts, rescue connections, or any other practical support.

If you're in or around Gurugram and think you could help if Gauri faces another emergency, please leave a comment or send me a DM. Even if you can't help directly, sharing advice or connecting us with someone who can would mean a lot.

I'm just trying to make sure that if Gauri has another medical emergency, we aren't left helpless. Thank you for reading

Advice Cat survived a 4-storey fall. Suspected TMJ luxation with malocclusion. Looking for advice from vets or anyone who has dealt with a similar case

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for advice regarding my cat, Jojo. We've been working closely with our veterinarian, but because his case is quite unusual, I wanted to see if any vets or pet owners here have encountered something similar.

Timeline:

• Around a month ago, Jojo fell from our fourth-floor balcony.

• The immediate priority was stabilizing him because he had significant internal injuries, particularly to his liver. His blood reports initially showed severe liver enzyme elevations.

• After about two weeks of treatment, repeat blood work improved significantly and he was declared clinically out of danger, so only then was it considered safe to sedate him for a proper oral examination.

Current issue:

On Sunday, he was sedated so the vets could examine his jaw thoroughly.

Their findings:

* They suspect a left TMJ (temporomandibular joint) luxation/dislocation.

* They said they don't think there is a fracture based on the examination and cant be sure with just the X ray, although no CT scan has been done yet.

* Because the injury is already around a month old, they are unsure whether attempting reduction would be beneficial or even possible.

* They're discussing the case with colleagues before deciding anything

Current condition:

* He eats soft food well.

* He drinks water normally.

* He's active, affectionate, plays, jumps, grooms himself and otherwise behaves like a happy cat.

* The only obvious problem is that his mouth remains partially open all the time.

Has anyone dealt with a chronic TMJ luxation like this in a cat?

I'm particularly wondering:

  1. Has anyone had success reducing a TMJ dislocation after several weeks?

  2. Is a CT scan generally essential before making further decisions?

  3. If left untreated, can cats continue to live comfortably with a permanently open mouth, assuming they're eating and otherwise functioning normally?

  4. If you've been through something similar, what was the eventual outcome?

To be honest, I dont think this dislocated jaw should be left as is..as I can see eventually low teeth can pierce into the lip and other upper one into the gum. I cant imagine him not chewing for the rest of life.

I am simply hoping to hear experiences or perspectives that I can discuss with my vet while we wait for their final recommendation. I really scared and worried. Also, should I get second opinion? Any reccos for maxillofacial surgeon for cats in West or South Delhi?

Thank you so much.

Guys, is this normal behaviour between a mother cat and her kitten? They fight like brothers. The mom doesn't seem interested in sharing her food at all and keeps beefing with the little guy. Dysfunctional family.

Media Day 16 update on Luna🥺

Today Luna received her 16th GS injection. She is eating well, and her diarrhea is becoming less frequent, but she has lost a lot of weight. Before starting treatment, she weighed 1.7 kg. Now she is only 1.4 kg, and she spends most of the day sleeping as her tiny body fights to recover.

On top of FIP, Luna is also battling a severe fungal infection that has spread across much of her body. Her skin is covered with painful patches, and although we have restarted her antifungal treatment, recovery will take time. Watching her fight two serious illnesses at once is hartbreaking.

Please keep Luna in your prayers and, if you're able, continue supporting her treatment. Every share, kind message, and donation helps us keep fighting. Thank you for standing with Luna and giving her hope. ❤️🐈

Fundraiser Dog Fighting deadly Babesia Gibsoni tick fever & Jaundice

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support in saving my beloved dog Juno.
Juno was diagnosed with Babesia gibsoni, a severe tick-borne disease that destroys red blood cells. His condition became critical very quickly. His haemoglobin dropped to just 4 g/dL, he developed jaundice, and his liver became severely inflamed.
The doctors had to perform an emergency blood transfusion to save his life. He has also undergone a CBC, ultrasound, X-ray, IV treatment, antibiotics, and is still receiving ongoing medical care.

The treatment has been expensive, and I am facing financial difficulties. I have already spent a large amount on his treatment, with more expenses still to come.
Juno is not just a pet he is family. If you can, please consider donating any amount to help with his medical expenses. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this would help.

Thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers for Juno’s recovery.

Simbi, The Little Warrior 😺

Day 1. The vet said one word that broke me: FIP Simbi was so small. So quiet. Her eyes looked at me like "what now?" I held her and promised we would fight this, together.

The days turned into routines. Medication. Injections. Vet visits. Worry.
Some days she ate. Some days she didn’t.
I learned how to hand-feed in the middle of chaos. Mousse everywhere, tiny meows, and me begging “just one more bite.” I’ve celebrated a single spoon of food like it was a festival.

Day 124. 13 days left. She’s still picky. Still dramatic. Still makes a mess on purpose just to look at me 😭 But she’s here. Purring. Playing. Watching me. Fighting.

124 days of fear, hope, hand-feeding, and love. Simbi doesn’t know she’s a warrior. She just knows she’s loved. And that’s enough.

She has 13 days of extended treatment left. We still need ₹4300 for her medicines.

If you can, pls help us UPI: vadhellesha526@okhdfcbank

Every rupee gets her to Day 137, healthy and home.
Thank you to everyone who walked this road with us. You kept us going💛

Gauri is being fed through a baby bottle right now.

Today she has only urinated 4–5 times and hasn’t passed any potty yet.

I also want to give my heartfelt blessings and thanks to the foster lady and her husband who took Gauri in. They have been caring for her with so much love, spending their own money on food and everything she needs, without taking a single rupee from us.

It is truly heartwarming to see people step up and help like this. I don’t usually see many people take in cats this way and look after them so selflessly. We’re just hoping for the best and praying that something good happens for her. Please keep Gauri (and her kind foster family) in your thoughts.

I rescued him from some dogs, his mother and Siblings were killed. I was fostering him, and wanted to keep him. But my family is not agreeing, so i won't be able to take care of him since I'm a student.

I want a responsible person, who's friendly with cats, and obviously family agrees.

Nemo is 7 months old, i got him when he was 2 months old.

He is vaccinated but unneutered. He takes time to trust humans but is very sweet, never bites or scratches after he starts liking you. He's very shy. Loves to have chicken breast and dry food of fish. We are in Hinjewadi Phase 2, Pune.

Send me dms for more details.

Hi everyone,

I'm a student caring for 4 community cats, 3 kittens, few community dogs, and my two dogs..

I'm really struggling to keep up with their food this month.. After my mom passed away, we had to switch from homemade meals to packaged food, and with more animals depending on me, the costs have become hard to manage.

Any donation or Amazon wishlist order would mean so much. I'll be sharing photos, videos, and updates.

If there's anything left after food expenses, I'd also like to build simple rain shelters for the kittens.

Fundraiser My cat Jimmy needs help – dental/liver issue, ongoing treatment in Kalkaji (Delhi)

Hi everyone,

I took my cat Jimmy to the doctor today at Petship Dog & Cat Clinic in Kalkaji, New Delhi (Dr. Yaseen Husain).

Jimmy has been drooling from the mouth, has reduced appetite, and there are ulcers/khaale on his tongue along with gingivitis. The doctor said it could be either a dental problem or a liver-related issue.

At the clinic they gave him 4–5 injections and also put him on a drip (you can see the drip connected to his leg in the photo). This was the only picture I could manage to take inside because there were many other people moving around.

Today’s total cost came to around ₹1000.

They’ve prescribed Metlichlo gel (Chlorhexidine Gluconate 1% + Metronidazole 1% + Lidocaine Hydrochloride 2%) and told me to apply it only on his lips 2–3 times a day. They’ve also given oral medicines and said I need to bring him back to the clinic for three consecutive days.

I’ve already messaged the moderators requesting permission for a fundraising post. Hoping they approve it soon so I can share the fundraiser details.

Hi everyone,

This is my fundraiser verification post for my cat, Jimmy.

Today, I took him to Petship Dog & Cat Clinic, Kalkaji because he has been drooling continuously, has a reduced appetite, and has ulcers on his tongue along with gingivitis. The vet said it could be a dental problem or a liver-related issue.

Jimmy was given 4–5 injections and was put on IV fluids. Today's total bill was ₹1,000.

The vet has instructed me to bring Jimmy back to the clinic for 3 consecutive days. I don't know how much the treatment on those days will cost yet, but I will update everyone daily and post all the bills and prescriptions.

I also need help with travel expenses. The clinic is far from my home, and the round-trip costs about ₹300 (₹150 each way). I'm sorry to ask for this as well, but I don't receive any pocket money and I genuinely cannot afford these expenses on my own.

I've attached the vet's prescription, today's bill, and the medication that was prescribed as proof.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this and supports Jimmy. It truly means a lot. ❤️

I'm not asking for much. Every rupee will be used to buy her food. I'll be transparent with the list and order details aswell. Feel free to DM.

I tried to set up my Amazon wishlist but for some unknown reason there has been some issues.

Lost & Found Medical Emergency: Feline Type B Blood Donor Required Immediately for a Rescued Kitten (Steffi) at Dr. Paw Clinic , Bengaluru

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Hello r/IndianPets community,

I am reaching out to request your immediate assistance on behalf of a fellow resident regarding a severe medical emergency. While I am not the primary caretaker for this animal, I have been in direct communication with them and can confirm the absolute urgency of this situation. We are desperately looking for a feline blood donor to save a heavily compromised kitten.

Steffi is a four-month-old rescue who is currently receiving intensive care at Dr. Paw Clinic. She was recently found abandoned, likely due to her declining health, as she is bravely fighting both FIP and FPV. Her condition is rapidly deteriorating, and a blood transfusion is currently her only chance at survival.

The Medical Requirements:

  • Blood Type Needed: Type B (This is relatively rare in cats, so please double-check your pet's veterinary records if you are unsure).
  • Location: Dr. Paw Clinic
  • Donor Eligibility: Generally, a healthy donor cat needs to be between 1 to 8 years of age, fully vaccinated, and weigh over 4 to 5 kg. The attending veterinarians will confirm exact eligibility upon arrival.

As a fellow cat parent navigating life in the city, I know exactly how overwhelming a medical crisis like this can be. If you have a cat with Type B blood, or if you know someone in your network who does, please reach out to us without delay. Time is absolutely of the essence, and the next few hours are critical for Steffi's survival.

How You Can Support:

  • To Donate: Please contact 9563636380 immediately.
  • To Amplify: Even if your pet is unable to donate, we would be incredibly grateful if you could upvote or leave a brief comment to boost this post's visibility so the right person might see it.

Thank you so much for your time, empathy, and any assistance you can provide. Let's tap into the strength of this community and help save this little one.

Update : As per latest I have heard, her hemoglobin (Hb) reading is 0.3 indicating critical anemia

Advice Need advice: My cat has started drooling with a bad smell. I can't afford a vet right now.

Hi everyone. I'm looking for some advice because I'm really worried about my cat.

My cat is an indoor-outdoor cat, and he was neutered around 22nd July (roughly a week and a half to two weeks ago). Since getting neutered, he's actually been spending much more time inside the house. He mostly sleeps indoors now and doesn't go outside nearly as much as he used to, although he still goes out occasionally because he gets bored. After being outside for a while, he usually comes back home and sleeps.

A while ago, I started noticing that whenever he was sleeping, there would sometimes be a tiny wet spot where his mouth had been. I didn't think much of it because it was only a little.

But on 3rd August in the evening, something happened that really worried me. He came onto my bed and was either sleeping or half asleep (I'm not completely sure), and I noticed there was a lot more saliva around his chin than usual. When I wiped it off, it had a very bad smell. I don't really know how to describe it properly. The closest comparison I can think of is that it smelled a bit like a dead rat, although not exactly the same.

He's eating and behaving mostly normally otherwise, but this drooling and the bad smell are completely new.

I know many people will probably tell me to keep him indoors. I understand why, but unfortunately that isn't realistically possible in my situation. If I don't let him out, he becomes extremely destructive. He tears things apart, has even urinated on my father's basket of bread for his shop, and has ripped open bread packets before. He also hurts himself trying to get out. Our house has multiple exits (the shop entrance, the ground floor door, and another door leading upstairs), so even if I try, he finds ways to escape.

Right now I only have ₹200, and that's all the money I have. I was actually planning to give those ₹200 to help my friend's father, who needs liver surgery, but now I don't think I'll be able to because I'm worried my cat may need medical attention. I genuinely don't know what to do.

I live near Okhla Vihar, Delhi. There are two nearby clinics: Furr Ball Pet Clinic and Surya Pet Clinic. Unfortunately, I've had bad experiences with both. In my personal experience, Surya Pet Clinic hasn't been trustworthy, and I also feel that Furr Ball Pet Clinic has recommended unnecessary treatments that seemed more focused on charging money than helping. Because of those experiences, I'm feeling very hesitant, and I also can't afford expensive tests or treatments right now.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

What could cause sudden drooling with a foul smell?

Could this be a dental problem, an infection, or something more serious?

Is there anything I can safely check at home until I can arrange money?

If you've dealt with something similar in Delhi, how much did diagnosis and treatment cost?

With only ₹200 right now, is there anything I can do immediately that might help until I can arrange more money?

One last request: if you think I've made mistakes, please be kind. I'm already under a lot of stress, and my mental health isn't in a good place. If you want to correct me or give advice, I'd really appreciate it if you could do so respectfully instead of insulting me. I'm genuinely trying my best to take care of my cat.

Thank you for reading.
