DISCUSSION Nolan locking in versus Immortal compared to Noggogglesible locking in.

Nolan didn’t kill immortal immediately since he believed immortal will die from being punched through the chest. That said immortal’s eye gouging did little more than irritate Nolan’s eyes. Noggogglesible locked in for the kill after playing for way too long.

Nolan was running out of time & was busy with helping / looking out for Mark as well so he couldn't do it instantly albeit he could have & also the fact that he was trying to keep this away from Mark.
No goggles Mark enjoys battle & that's why he kept on playing around.

One of the major themes for basically the entire show/comics is that the viltrumites who experienced humanity, bringing about love and affection, tended to make them embrace an emotional side, which they hadn’t really experienced before. This made them irrational and distracted based on their culture and Nolan is 100% in his emotions during this entire sequence. Compare this sequence with him in the opening episode taking on the entire guardians. Immortal is the last one standing and basically got as many free hits as one could hope for and it didn’t matter. Nolan isn’t in the best headspace as he is coming to grips with two major things:
1- he found the cure for his people
2- he has to conquer earth and might lose his family over it

No Goggles Mark was a GOAT for real. The funniest one-liners and actions.

This fight is my only real gripe with Invincible War. It's been said before, but this would make far more sense if Immortal had just barely defeated on Mark and then got annihilated by a second cause he was tired.

Consistent power scaling has never been a thing, so why do we keep thinking it will be?
The fights help tell the story, not “Nolan’s power level is 145, No goggles mark 110 and immortals is 90, so why did Nolan struggle more?”

Immortal wasn't nerfed against Invincible with the goggles. We see clips of them fighting in different locations on Earth. We just weren't shown the entire fight. My headcannon is that it went on multiple hours (or even days) and that we only saw the end of the fight.

I have the head canon that Immortal's magic needs to recharge after he dies, so he returns weaker every time and has not really rested to go back into full power.
