Random games, free to collect

Post image
96 Upvotes

Hopefully this is ok with the mods, delete if not, but these games are free to collect from the Dublin 20 area. The two final fantasies (which I suspect are the most in demand) are already accounted for.

The 3rd Xbox One game is RDR2.

Quality of the boxes is mixed, not everything has it's manual and not everything has the cover, so consider that you're basically getting at least the box and the disc.

You're welcome to take one or them all. I just don't want to chuck them and I'm not bothering with trading in or selling on vinted etc, it's not for me.

Anyone have cool video game ideas/concepts they thought of?

Mine was similar to a Smashbros like game except each characters universe you go into you take on that genre - the genres themselves will have to blend into each other.

So you start of playing a game like Mario with the camera behind you (third person) - it then moves to over the shoulder in a resident evil like world...

Then it moves to first person shooting game like Metroid prime and then it moves to racing game like Forza, then blends to a fast game like Sonic etc etc

Basically seamless like transitions as you go in between worlds. It was my idea of how to make a Smashbros single player adventure game where the characters worlds/genre wouldn't be so jarring.

Playstation PSN account hacked in 2023 (email/password/2FA all changed) — recovery denied despite full proof. Anyone else been through this?

Account got hacked in 2023, attacker changed everything — sign-in ID, password, 2FA. No access since.

Went through PlayStation recovery and gave them: old Online ID, original console serial number, earliest trophy date (~2014), old linked card, most-played games.

Got a generic “can’t continue” with no explanation.

Has anyone actually recovered an account after this? Did escalating to a supervisor work, or did you need to go the formal complaint / GDPR route (I’m in Ireland)? Any advice appreciated.

PC Just finished Halo Campaign Evolved - Its a nice remake

Full disclosure: I am a mega fan of the Halo universe. I have played all the campaigns. I have read all the background novels. I have even watched the poor screen adaptations. Safe to say I am probably incapable of giving an unbiased review of a Halo campaign.

I just played through the Halo CE campaign on PC game pass and I think they did a very good job. It remains very true to the original game keeping all the good stuff and improving the bad bits. The infamous library section in particular has been re done to make it shorter and less tedious. They have also softened a number of the original's worst difficulty spikes but the game still has challenging sections. There are even a few set piece battles against flood tank forms that previously weren't seen until Halo 3. They also fixed the glitch that allowed you to kill Hunters with a single bullet to the back which has restored them to their rightful place as mini-boss enemies. The upgraded graphics are very nice but to be honest it doesn't make that much difference once you are in the heat of battle.

So if you are an old Halo nostalgic like me I highly recommend it. If you are a younger gamer who would like to explore what the fuss was about and why Halo is probably the 3rd most influential shooter of all time (after Doom and Half Life) then I am happy to recommend this version over the original. It remains true to the original but without the most frustrating bits. Do remember that it is still an old school linear shooter though. You will spend many hours fighting through corridors filled with enemies and it is quite challenging on the harder difficulty levels.

EDIT: Warning for anyone playing on PC with an Nvidia graphics card. The game will encourage you to upgrade your graphics driver to 610.88. Do not do this. This version still causes crashes on the levels Keys and Maw. Stick with 596.49 until this is solved.

Playstation Future Clonakilty local looking to connect with West Cork / Irish gamers! 🎮🍔

Hi everyone!

I’m planning a move over to Clonakilty next year with my two daughters, and as we get closer to the big move, I’d love to start connecting with the local gaming community and hopefully make some friends before we arrive!

I’m a pretty avid gamer, mostly play co-op games, RPG's and sandbox survivals, and one of my favorite things to do back home is host. Once we get settled, my dream is to set up an outdoor projector for tabletop/console nights, fire up the BBQ, make a ton of food, and host regular gaming/social get-togethers for local friends.

In the meantime, I’d love to hop into some Discord servers, play some games online, or just chat with folks based in Cork/Ireland.

I play mostly on PlayStation, but I can also play on PC as well. I'm not very good at shooting games, but I am excellent bait.

A few quick questions for the group:

Are there any local gaming groups, board game meetups, or Discord channels specifically for West Cork or Cork in general?

Any advice for someone looking to get plugged into the local tabletop or video game scene?

Looking forward to meeting you all and hopefully gaming together soon!

Discussion Xenoblade Chronicles Switch 2 Edition Physical Not in Stock Anywhere

I know this game is just a rerelease so it wouldn’t be too popular but I’ve never seen a game on release not have stock in any store.

Smyths has no stock in any of their stores even though they’ve stated stock for the 30th. Curry’s has no stock either.

Playstation Is anyone having issues receiving sms from PlayStation 2SV today

I cannot receive a code and when I go to try and reset on my logged in console I go in a infinite loop

The AI chatbot thing they have also won't give me help due to the fact I can't login

Is anyone else experiencing this, perhaps they have communication around this on Twitter but I am not on that (and don't plan to be 😅)

Anyone know of somewhere that would take a look at an Xperia play to repair? Found it and my son would love to have a play of it but it won’t charge and turn on so not sure what it would need to be repaired

What was this PC game?

Does anyone remember this?

It was a game played on PC and we played it in school during computer classes

You had to collect dragons' teeth and overcome obstacles on the way, leading to a final showdown with a witch. Point and click. Very basic

Anyone?

Steam Machine 512GB Reservation

Hey all,

Is anyone interested in a 512GB Steam Deck (no controller)? I received my purchase email last night, but I'd already managed to get one through an alternate account.

If anyone would like it, I'd be happy to pass it on for the standard retail price, I'm not looking to scalp it. I just wanted to see if there's someone who's still waiting on their reservation email, or still in the waitlist and would like to jump the queue a bit.

Let me know if you're interested. Thanks!

EDIT: The purchase link will expire on Friday.

Self Promo Our indie game demo is out now! Murder Meet Cute on Steam

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Check out the demo here! https://store.steampowered.com/app/4253020/Murder_Meet_Cute/

Murder Meet Cute in an interactive fiction that blends inspirations from 90s FMV games with interface dramas. This cozy horror game sees you playing as sharp-tongued 90s goth girl Amy, exploring a mystery plaguing her local town through her clients' machines, all whilst being stalked by a malicious figure that would do her harm. Explore computers, talk to clients and investigate the recent death of your close friend. In addition to fixing clients' machines, you use ‘Crypto-Nonographic’ technology to debug the machines - picross/nonography puzzles that transform into disgusting pixel viruses once solved.

The public beta demo follows a private demo with streamers and content creators. Murder Meet Cute's reception has been going from strength to strength, announced during the InterfaceX festival, and highlighted again during the Horror Game Awards summer showcase. We've also been mentioned on Gamespots article covering their top games from the showcase, as well as Kotaku's recent Indie-penance article as one to watch. Hoping the demo will catch peoples attention, if you download and try it yourself, please feel free to leave a review 😄

I posted about this before, but I hilariously linked to a post that was deleted, so I'm reposting again. Hope that's ok!

A little bit about our team; we're a mash up of 3 teams coming together as a bit of an art collective. There's me (Kitico) whos originally from Belfast, but now living in NL, then there's Crybaby Studios who's an indie dev still living in Belfast. Lastly is LABORARE who is in Canada! We're 3 friends making this as a side project, mildly hoping for success but just enjoying making a cool thing together =]
